Private commission
Hi everyone, I want to share with you an illustration I made for a private commission. The guy who commissioned it wanted me to draw him and his girlfriend as their favorite animals—a fox for him and an otter for her—traveling together in a fantasy world. The drawing will then be printed and placed above the front door of their house so they can see it everytime they go out. I think the idea is very sweet and cute, and I loved drawing it!

Tilda finds her rainbow - Trailer
I invested in having a promotional trailer created for one of my books that has been accepted by Waterstones and will be on the shelves in other retail outlets soon . I have found it a great marketing tool and it has many views on my website too. Thought you might like to see what BWU team created 🌈

4 - Silent Book
Another type of book I really like is the "Silent Book" or "Book Without Text" (I don't know the correct term in English). Being able to tell a story without writing anything is brilliant. These books can allow the reader of the image to create their own narratives. The author provides a path or poses some kind of question with the images, and it's up to the reader to create their own understanding. Obviously, this type of book isn't just created by illustrators; text authors can create a script and guide the illustrators to do what the author envisions, and together they create a great book. And best of all, it's universally readable; no translations are needed.

🎨 Cover Love – What Makes You Pick Up a Book?
Covers are such a big part of children’s books — sometimes they’re the very thing that makes a child (or a parent!) pull a book off the shelf. But what really catches the eye? Is it bold colours, playful characters, elegant typography… or something else entirely? Personally, I’m always drawn to typographic covers — a beautiful font or even a clever bit of photo manipulation mixed with the text instantly grabs my attention. So tell me: what’s the first thing you notice on a cover that makes you want to open the book? 💜📚

For me covers are absolutely crucial to selling a book. They should be as captivating as possible. Also, the cover should rappresent at least a small part of the book's plot, so I understand the choice to include an internal illustration of the book on the cover. The title and font are also very important to attract attention. The illustration and title must combine perfectly to create a functional cover. I think if one of them is weak, the book will probably go unnoticed. When I go to the bookstore, I often hunt for books that I can use as study material for work, so I choose something that can serve as a reference for me. But I often find books that catch my attention unexpectedly, for the story or a different style. Covers with bright colors and an interesting composition definitely catch my attention.
