䷃ #4: Youthful Folly (Meng)
Hexagram 4 is now available in the Classroom, and working on it brought back a moment that made me smile. 😊 Recently, a friend I admire a lot - who has just started learning how to teach yoga - consulted the I Ching for the first time with me. He was a little hesitant, doubtful, and very curious. When Hexagram 4 came up to describe where he stands, we both laughed, because it fit his situation so well. He’s at the beginning of a new path, learning to be a teacher, guided by someone very wise, calm, and slow, while he himself feels more impatient, eager to understand faster, and wondering what direction this teaching will eventually take him. Sounds just like the spring, at the bottom of the mountain doesn't it? For me, this hexagram is a beautiful reminder of modesty and humility, and of the fact that we are always, in one way or another, beginners. No matter how much we know, learning never really ends.. it just deepens. You’ll find the full Hexagram 4 lesson now in the Classroom → Hexagram of the Week. I’m curious to hear where this hexagram meets you right now 🌱

I just read your post about the Hexagram 4 Marine, and the first connection that popped up in my head was the book “Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind” by Shunryu Suzuki. I just want to quote here few words from the prologue: “In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert’s there are few. This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner. Be very very careful about this point”

Good day ! Please join me in welcoming a few new members who recently joined: @Ahia meir Malul , @Daniel Shifron , @Jubal Dohms , @Jessica Legendre , @Alina Stoianov , @Kathleen Martinez-Golik, @Frances Nokes , @Laura Alon 💖 Please tell us a bit more about yourselves in the comments 😊 It is so nice to see you here - hi, I'm Marine, I'm French - Israeli, have three cute daughters, I love psychology, ancient wisdom, which kind of naturally took me to the I Ching discovery and study, alongside Jung, the Tao Te Ching, and more... It's an endless exploration, and it's so much nicer to do it as a group, where the exchanges come to life and we can all feed each other with warm energy and diverse set of skills and knowledge. In this space so far: - we discuss an hexagram each week, its references and how it resonates in life - publish books recommendations - organize online events, all suggestions welcome! - share different ways of expression, and of reaching more inner peace like art, Qigong, and more.. A special thanks to @María Julia Gómez Peral , @Tali Adani , @Elwin Berlips , @Gloria Manthos , @Idan Franck , @Joanna Kowalewska , @Nate Rose & @Nunn M.Ubeda who have made this place a warm one to reconnect to with great pleasure those past few weeks ! 💓
