This is an alternative to the Free Waveform Viewer used int the FTM Session today ... I've been experimenting with how to see what the processing is doing to the WAV file without having to bounce it down each time. This is more for learning What and How processing affects what the file looks like - I'm a visual person, and this is giving me immediate visual feedback as to what the moves I was making are affecting the clip or wav. I look at it as similar to using the PAZ as a reference as to what my moves are doing to the sonic frequency spectrum except this is showing what dynamics are doing to the file. Here's a link to the video I put together following the last coaching call with Jake. I did a short video showing what I did and what I learned while experimenting with Transient Shaping on a Kick Drum. This kick drum is from a track in the TRE Mixing section Week 10 Editing exercise. It's a stereo track that I show in the video that I split into 2 mono tracks - Low and High (so I could process them differently - The Girth Trick) and using just a Transient Shaper and StandardClip clipper, how it brought a woofy sounding kick to life. I also showed using the StandardClip as a waveform monitor. I hope you enjoy and get something from this video.
