Whoops, I lost track of time editing!
This Weeks Chord Progression is a pretty rad classic rock style chord progression. You're chords are going to be: Bm7-E (4 times) then G-D-A (4 times) In the video, I show you how I like to come up with my chord progressions. They typically start as a melody first and foremost, something I hum in my head. After that I figure out the building blocks and piece it all together. A chord progression is born haha! This particular one started as a Frank Zappa's "Peaches en Regalia" adjacent melody. What's neat about this one, is I went into this with the notion that the whole progression was in A Mixolydian (very classic rock) but once I wrote the "intro", that wound up having a more Dorian vibe. Here's those relative scale things again...A Mixolydian and B Dorian have the same notes and therefore the same scale shapes. So do whatever you want! If you don't want to mess with modes, you'd totally still crush this progression with a B minor pentatonic scale! Have fun with this one! -Ben P.S. After listening back, the "chorus" part reminds me a lot of "With a Little Help From My Friends". Guess I nailed that classic rock vibe then eh? Haha!

Charlie's Guitar Stroke Recovery Week 230
Hello Stroke Warriors, welcome to Charlie’s Guitar Stroke Recovery. This week, I want to share with you the importance of persistence in stroke recovery. Through my own journey, I have found that staying persistent and committed to the process has been instrumental in my progress. Let's explore how persistence can lead to success and growth in your recovery journey. Persistence is the act of continuing in a course of action without giving up, even in the face of challenges, obstacles, or setbacks. It involves staying committed to your goals and pushing through difficulties with determination and resilience. In stroke recovery, persistence can mean sticking to your therapy routine, staying positive during setbacks, and believing in your ability to improve. In the Bible, persistence is viewed as a transformative virtue that leads to spiritual growth and maturity. Romans 5:3-4 teaches us that endurance through suffering produces character and hope. By persisting through trials and challenges, we can strengthen our faith and trust in God, leading to ultimate rewards and growth. This week, I took a bold step in my recovery journey by creating music for a friend. I recorded myself singing a song called “Traveling Into Life,” written by Brion Au. This experience pushed me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to express myself through music. As I strummed my guitar and sang the lyrics, I felt a sense of accomplishment and joy. Title: "Traveling Into Life" • Written By: Brion Au • Guitar/Vocals: Charles Webber • Music/Music Arrangement: Charles Webber/Madison Webb Group I encourage you to find ways to challenge yourself and push past your limits in your recovery journey. Whether it's through music, art, exercise, or other creative outlets, stepping out of your comfort zone can help you grow and progress on your path to recovery. Final thoughts, persistence is a key element in stroke recovery. By staying committed to your goals, pushing through challenges, and believing in your ability to improve, you can achieve success and growth in your journey. Remember, every small step forward counts, so keep strumming for life and never give up!

@Charles Webber great. This song brought to mind a song by Travis, the fear. The background music is hypnotic. Spirits, Nature's Way. Before your time. Enjoyed your song, thanks.
**UPDATE** For All
Hey everyone, Mike here. Popping in real quick because this week you're going to notice a bit of a rhythmic shift in the way we post, and I want you to know exactly what we're doing and why. So check out the short video below - or - continue reading... Both provide clarification and are easy to understand. Here's the short version: We're supercharging our systems (So-to-speak). Starting next week, you'll see a lot more tablature on screen so you can actually see what's happening and play right along, more quick lessons you can knock out fast, and we're also extending the bigger library we've already built out for our paid tiers. The real goal is a value upgrade for everyone in here. The old weekly rhythm (Riff of the Week, Tip Top Tuesday, and the rest) was great to test out, but doesn't provide enough breathing room for the information output we'll be working through. So think more "good stuff showing up throughout the week." *Kinda feel... Pop back to our Skool in a day or two days and update our conversations about a certain exercise. And it's not just more videos... We're building a chord finder currently that will be a multi tool for its users. In these new videos we're going deeper into the things that actually matter for your playing. Chord construction, deeper dives into how it all fits together, the stuff that lets you play your-own-music in your-own-style and truly start improvising. (That's what I'm here for!) We're just changing the format to something we think will serve this space for the better. This week is kind of the bridge. We've still got a couple classroom videos dropping (a music theory piece and a practice exercise from Ben), plus a chord progression video landing Friday. Next week, the new format goes live and the fresh stuff, hot off the press, starts rolling out. So bear with us while we get our feet under us and... get ready, because there's a lot of fun involvement opportunities coming. We're in here every day, so say hello, drop your questions, and tell us what you want to learn next.

@Mike Abalos Guitar was taught differently way back then. You have more strength the way you play. Its an adjustment and old folks dont like change. Lmao! Both positions have their advantages and disadvantages and good to be able to which between the two, another Tool in the mix.

@Mike Abalos my Dad had a few sayings. Boy, i used to wish I could sing now I wish you could. Or boy you couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. Oh yeah this non music related about beards, boy you look like the south end of a north bound mule.

Happy Birthday @Benjamin Wood . On this day 43 years ago, our very own - Ben Jammin' was birthed into this world. He was always meant for more, and delivers on his every word. He's a great pal, great instructor and better yet... He's a good person. Ben is dedicated to helping others on the guitar and always gives 110% to the things he gets involved with. He's sacrificed many of his "nights out" - many of his "lazy days" - he's given so much to his craft and it really shines in his playing. It really shines in his teaching and his understanding. From guitar to real world drama, Ben has always proven to be a loyal, trustworthy and dedicated individual. So please join me in wishing Ben a sincere happy birthday and great new year by posting a video of you shredding, playing happy birthday or doing a "one note" solo. Whatever it is... whatever it looks like - thanks for being here and we look forward to sharing more over the coming years. For memories' sake, here are a few bad pictures of Ben and a few from gigs we've played together over the years... Oh man there are so many more. Until next year... love ya Ben. Toodles 👋

Happy Birthday, Ben.
Give "A" a Try!
The story I tell in this video is from about 10 years ago. Give yourself a chance to play around in "A" and don't be afraid of your hiccups lol because in "A" pretty much every note works toward your benefit. Post what you get and give everyone else a listen!
