I love playing guitar and during COVID I suffered a “Stroke”. This unexpected stroke affected the whole right-side of my body, in other words, zero movement; this was a very scary experience. Slowly movement is returning through therapy, extreme hard work, staying very positive, being hopeful and many prayers; still healing through the grace of God! After some time has gone by, I started have a strong desire to start playing guitar again. My fret hand is fine, the challenging issue is my picking and strumming right hand, at which I call the engine. So, I accepted this personal challenge to start playing guitar again. Happy Birthday @Benjamin Wood . On this day 43 years ago, our very own - Ben Jammin' was birthed into this world. He was always meant for more, and delivers on his every word. He's a great pal, great instructor and better yet... He's a good person. Ben is dedicated to helping others on the guitar and always gives 110% to the things he gets involved with. He's sacrificed many of his "nights out" - many of his "lazy days" - he's given so much to his craft and it really shines in his playing. It really shines in his teaching and his understanding. From guitar to real world drama, Ben has always proven to be a loyal, trustworthy and dedicated individual. So please join me in wishing Ben a sincere happy birthday and great new year by posting a video of you shredding, playing happy birthday or doing a "one note" solo. Ben here, with another video in the "Classroom" section, specifically the Practice exercises tab. This one's all about note groupings of four. These sorts of patterns are where riffs and "faster" guitar playing live. If you want faster guitar playing, get good at these, and make sure to use them in all keys and scales! Also, there's tabs at the bottom to help get you started. I did position one of the Major, Minor, and Minor Pentatonic scales to get you started with the overall concept. I played guitar for several years when I was younger, then quit for forty years, now re-learning, currently can play rhythm guitar to most songs, now slowly learning notes and special chords required by some songs. Look forward to gathering some good information that may improve my skills with this group.
