Creating YouTube for the Audience vs. for Yourself
So I recently got hooked on Rick Rubin and his ideas about creativity and how we should approach creating art. His quote: "The audience comes last". Meaning that you will produce your best work when you'll create what you like, not what you think the audience will like. And personally I consider creating YouTube videos (even educational ones) a form of art in some way(or at least I try to approach it this way). That's why I think to some extent this is a good advice for new creators, especially if you're having trouble with picking a niche. I also noticed that a lot of big youtubers burn out exactly because the focus on the stuff that the algorithm wants and on what they think their audience wants. I always had problems on picking a niche on YouTube. And on my new channel that I started a month ago I kinda started doing what I want and already had some (comparatively) good results. What do you think about finding balance between trying to satisfy the audience vs. create what you want? And of course I made a video about it :) Let me know what you think! Have a great day everyone and stay safe!❤️

New Video Editing Style on YouTube
I think I'm not the only one who is very tired of retention editing... Chances are you've probably seen some videos explaining the "new" video editing style, more authentic, less edited, etc. I'm a full time video editor but still, I think this is a very good thing that people crave for less editing. Because especially for the creator economy and creating a connection and trust with viewers, this kind of editing style will have much better results in my opinion. I've kinda became a copycat and made my own video on this topic (but I mentioned the original creators of this idea in the comment lol) . What do you think about retention editing overall and where do you think YouTube is heading?

@Jack Alderton damn, really happy for you! Had the same results recently on my new videos, although I went kinda creative with different angles and lighting But that's just because I enjoy this kind of stuff:)
What to do when you don't have any goals?
This morning, before I started recording the video, russians hit a civilian building near me with a rocket. Got some of it on camera and put it in the video. Anyways I'm at my day 6 of daily YouTube uploads. I made a video about what was my experience on not having any goals. It's about the connection of Self-Confidence and Goal Setting. I think it's correlated. If we don't believe in ourselves we will neglect all of our possible dreams and aspirations, and we can't set any goals because we actually don't believe that we can achieve them in the first place. What do you think about the connection of Goal-Setting and Self-Confidence? Anyways much love to everyone and stay safe!❤️

@Martin Roxby daaamn, man, what an answer! This comment should be a bulletprfoof guide on setting goals. I would say that sometimes I don't even use a vision of the future. In this kind of situation I became very pessimistic in terms of planning. I try to do the things daily that will make me proud of myself today or tomorrow, or maybe in 1 month at most (hence the daily uploads challenge). I don't have a clear vision, but I do feel that certain actions make me feel better about myself, so I'm just aiming to do them as often as possible. But again, your comment is something that should be saved and used when feeling lost!😁

Day 4 of My Daily YouTube Uploads Challenge
I recently decided to script, record and post a video a day, no matter how it will turn out I have to post it. It's day 4 and I decided to make a video about my old YouTube channel that I eventually abandoned. In the video I discussed some things that made me quit YouTube. Here are some of those: 1) I was spending too much time on each video. The more time you spend, the bigger are your expectations, the more you'll be upset because in the beginning chances are - it will not be good. You will burn out fast. 2) I was relying only on the algo, never promoted the video or used other social media, big mistake. Especially in the beginning YouTube gives very few impressions to your video. 3) When one of the videos worked I did not double down on the topic and just started doing something completely different. You should always double down on what's working if you want faster results. (But you can burn out fast because algorithm dictates what you have to make now). But nevertheless, that channel helped me to learn video editing and now I'm a freelance video editor. But starting this new channel, I will try not make those kind of mistakes anymore. I wanted to share the video, maybe it will be helpful to someone! Peace and love to everyone in this community! Stay Strong!❤️

@Muhammad Aaliyan Rajput Very true! After I quit for some time something has actually died inside of me lol And now it's been 4 days, I did put out 4 videos about just anything I could think that morning and it already feels great. I feel that I'm doing THE THING that I was always afraid of. Believing that I have any valuable information to share is a completely different story. But nevertheless need to put out something. As they say "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."
Thoughts on the Video Style.
I'm a video editor, usually do fast paced and highly edited content for clients. YouTube currently started a trend for less edited, more authentic kind of content, so I tried it out on myself. What do you guys think about these kind of videos?
