## Kimberly's Persona Kimberly has been a trailblazer in many aspects of her life. She is proud to be a resource and pay it forward to help others. Her children were diagnosed with PDD-NOS and later Autism Spectrum Disorder at the age of three. They underwent intensive early intervention, including ABA, speech, occupational therapy, social skills groups, academic programs, and tutoring remediation services at school and home. In middle and high school, they participated in pre-college preparatory programs and summer STEM camps, which empowered academic confidence and introduced them to the STEM career fields. Unfortunately, attempts to sabotage the significant progress, academic achievement, and remarkable strides they have made have presented post-high-school obstacles to navigate. The subjective bias, lack of awareness, and attempts from some individuals to interrupt the journey and dream have been frustrating. However, through faith and unwavering determination, they RISE AND KEEP MOVING FORWARD" despite the obstacles. In addition to her role as a dedicated mother, Kimberly has a wealth of professional experience. She recently joined Empire State Development in New York City as the Entrepreneurship Assistance Center Program Manager, bringing her expertise from previous roles at companies such as JP Morgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, the Social Security Administration, and the U.S. Small Business Administration. Kimberly holds a Master of Science degree in Education from SUNY Buffalo State College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the Reginald F. Lewis College of Business at Virginia State University (VSU), and has completed advanced doctoral coursework in Educational Leadership. Kimberly's roots are in Yonkers, New York, where she was born and raised in a culturally diverse household. Her grandfather's West-African Cape Verdean heritage and her mother's Southern background exposed her to a rich musical environment from a young age. Kimberly's love for music was nurtured through her involvement in the church gospel choir, school bands, piano recitals, and other performances. In middle school, she formally began studying classical piano at the local Jewish Community Center.
