A solution for hearing loss!
Hey everyone, for ages I am looking for a solution to compensate hearing loss. My hearing loss in my right ear is pretty severe and I always had the idea of coming up with a plugin solution to compensate the hearing loss - at least in the DAW. I never found a good solution and never had time to develop something similar but now HEARS Perfection has been released. When you open the plugin you can start a hearing test and based on the results, it creates a frequency compensation curve for you. It obviously does not replace a full blown scientifically done hearing test but it gets sort of close. If you are interested, I attached the video here. If you are a subscriber of the Plugin Alliance subscription, you get it for free.

wow this is very interesting and looks promising. This plugin slipped by me and this is the first I've heard of it. Thanks for posting this Alex I'm going to give this one a whirl. I've dealt with tinnitus for sometime now and always have tried to do my best to compensate for it when mixing and it has been a challenge.
Most Common Trailer Music Mistakes
Hey everyone, couldn't hold back and finally recorded a video about this topic. I have worked with many composers so far and listen to hundreds of trailer tracks (actually it must be probably over a thousand by now 😅) and almost everyone is exactly doing these same mistakes over and over! Make sure to follow these suggestions, then you will have success in this industry. Your music will be licensed and heard!

Thanks for the insight @Alex Pfeffer. Are there any musical keys that are typically preferred or maybe some that you just stay away from when creating a track? At one time, I think I read a comment somewhere that publishers could sometimes grab multiple trailer track stems from multiple writers to create a whole new track. Not sure if that actually happens, but if it does, musical key could make a difference I suppose. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks!
Cubase 15
For those of you that like improved workflows, the new feature within Expression Maps looks really powerful. It allows now for individual articulations attack compensation, so if you are a heavy user of articulations, you don't need separate tracks with the track delay set to -50ms for example. Now the attack compensation is applicable to the individual articulations which to me seems very powerful. https://youtu.be/ak4CRBgFd8Y?si=KZPf7hKYfaFtAi1G

I've recently switched over to Cubase from Logic and am just starting to dig in. So far the only thing that logic has that I'm not seeing in Cubase is the "retrospective recording" option for audio. From what I can see it looks like Cubase only has that available for midi. When playing guitar on the fly, I often would use the "flashback capture" as it's called in Logic, and capture my noodling and look for random gems to further build ideas off of. Does anyone know if Cubase has this retrospective recording option for audio that I'm not finding or is it something that might be in an upcoming feature? This would be the only thing I miss from using logic at this point.

@Gavin Nellist Thank you Gavin, much appreciated!
Native Instruments in Trouble
Hi folks. Looks like NI are in financial trouble. Wonder what that’s going to mean for all of us Kontakt and Isotope users. ???

Hello All! I think most might have already heard the news that InMusic has acquired NI, but if not, I've pasted a link below where Production Expert reported the news. InMusic are the ones that acquired Moog, Akai, and a whole lot of other music companies along the way. Here is a posting from a few days ago: https://www.production-expert.com/production-expert-1/native-instruments-acquired-by-inmusic-what-it-means-for-you Ken
Trailblazers I
@Alex Pfeffer I'm working through Trailblazers I and I'm finding it very useful. What year did you produce Trailblazers I?

@Alex Pfeffer hi Alex, I’m thinking about signing up for your trailer courses and am curious to know if there are any scenarios that might help direct us to know which of the courses might be most appropriate when considering Trail Blazers I & II vs the trailer workshop Thanks! Ken
