What Strings do you use for Trailer Music?
So I’ve collected a bunch of string libraries since I started in this genre about 2.5 years ago, but as you all know, the grass is always greener on the other side 🫠 I have Nucleus, Jaeger, CSS, and Pacific Ensemble, but I still have the feeling I’m missing something. Personally, I’m looking at AERIA for the extra articulations, but it feels a bit wasted since most of the content overlaps with Nucleus and Jaeger. I’d appreciate hearing some trailer cues from you guys, along with information on which libraries were used, to see everything in context 😊

I bought into the Musio collection a while back. I seem to keep going back to their strings especially. Really well sampled and easy to use. Also bought BBCSO Core. Huge range of option there too. Loads of really good free option out there but my brain hurts with so many option 😵. BBCSO, Spitfire SO, Vienna Symphony Big Bang Orchestra, Berlin Free in SINE etc. No to mention all the stuff that comes with Kontakt and PRo Tools. Have to learn to use them all properly first.

I agree with Clemens. The UA range are all great. I also use Waves IDX, and Valhalla Supermassive Reverb. As I am a Pro Tools user I often use the Pro-Limiter on Master Bus, or he Waves Abbey Road TG plug in. Just have to be careful how much I dial in as it is so very easy to spoil a good mix with too much processing on the Master Bus.

@Samuel Ferraz-Leite Lovely work. Especially like the mix of instrumentation. Super high standard as ever.👌

This is an example of a recent piece. Based on Shakespeare's character 'PUCK' from Midsummer Nights Dream . Vocals by my partner Hailey. PLease let me know what you think.
