My second commitment letter
After the goodbye at the animal hospital, I came home and worked on my commitment letter. Why? I don’t know. I just felt like that was the right time. An agonizing afternoon and then come and do this? I must have been asking for trouble. So, Jim’s Twins commitment letter it helped develop is finished, and it prepared the following snippet: Just wrote my Commitment Letter, and here's what I finally saw: everything I've been stuck on comes down to words stuck in my throat - things I need to say to the people closest to me - and one belief underneath it all. I made a mistake. I am not one. I already learned to separate an event from my worth once, with the hardest thing that ever happened to me. So I know I can do it again. These six weeks, I stop hiding and I start speaking. I might think it will be more like 6 weeks on Neptune (time for Neptune to orbit the Sun converted into 52 weeks). So, I have 19 earth years for my 6 weeks. I know. Get a life and stop with math and science. I am. Going to sleep now. Good night.

How many tabs? 🛜
Just for fun… How many open tabs on your internet browser (aka Safari / Chrome) are currently on your phone? Thought of you with this @Leonie Osborne and you’re my inspiration to get it down! 😉 Going to start closing some right this second but before I do…wanted to ask for a quick call out for what’s your number? Take a peek at what your number is 👀…. Let’s share below 👇

91 on my phone main Safari page, but that's coz the last time I passed 100, they all disappeared! 😬 At one point I was trying to categorize them into separate pages according to theme so that I could find things later, but I gave up maintaining it, so now its kind of a mess ... If one purges the lot (aside from an essential few), I wonder if it would be liberating or cause a lot of problems? On my Mac which I use for both work and private purposes, I have like 30-50 Safari windows, each of which have anything from 2 to 130 open tabs. My boss saw it once and burst out "that's not normal!", so every time I go to work now I quit Safari and use Edge for work purposes only. Not anywhere as many open tabs, but I am working on it ...🙃 Up until my boss's comment I thought most people struggled with too many open tabs 🙄
Tough stuff to digest
Section 2 of the Awakening Assessment just showed me that my "chameleon" survival skill from moving 14 times in 19 years came with a hidden cost - I stopped having ideas of my own. And the room I'm too afraid to redesign? Turns out I'm not scared it will look bad. I'm scared it will prove I'm broken.
Overwhelmed but still hopeful
Feeling overwhelmed by the many things I need to do. On the positive side, the voice telling me I am ok and don’t need to put myself down keeps me hopeful. It is becoming part of my new mindset. That’s a win 🥇

Dopamine detox group challenge? 👀
Yesterday during the Cohort 3 Q&A we had a fascinating discussion about dopamine, procrastination, sleep, focus, social media, Netflix binges, gaming, and why we sometimes struggle to do the things we actually want to do. Multiple members shared that when they reduce the constant stimulation for a few days, they: - Sleep better - Feel calmer - Focus easier - Stop procrastinating as much - Feel more connected to themselves So I'm considering organizing a 3-Day Dopamine Detox Challenge for the ADHD Harmony community. We'd check in together each day and share wins, struggles, insights, and what changes when the noise disappears. I'm curious... Who would actually join? Let me know in the comments. What would be the hardest thing for you to give up for 3 days? 😅

My problem is, if I cut out one bad dopamine habit like playing a game like CandyCrush, I find myself watching Netflix series or eating snacks instead... I would have to detox from all my unhealthy, waste of time distractions like for a day? I'm not sure I would be able to, probably suddenly feel so tired I would have to "go lie down" and that's not really helpful. So I'd be very interested to hear how to approach a detox when one has a bucketful of unhealthy dopamine habits...
