Core values
In another skool group I did my core values and this is what I found out: “I am someone who grows through learning, lifts others through support, and lives to make a meaningful difference. I strive to stay open, curious, and compassionate—cultivating both personal evolution and positive impact in the lives I touch.”

@Sara Fredrick aaahhhh yes! Such a helpful tool. Just curious if you felt anything surprised you when you were going through the process of prompting and clarifying. In other words, how have your core values evolved over your teaching career?

@Sara Fredrick that's great! It's such a good task to do, almost like a self check-in for your philosophy. I often wonder how our values and beliefs evolve with all the professional learning we do. Growing, expanding, refining, prioritising. I guess it highlights the importance of being within a learning space that aligns and nurtures our evolution so we can stay authentic to us. You've inspired me now!!
The 3 Conversations Every Leader Should Have Every Week
If you want to grow as a leader, it starts with the conversations you’re having — not the meetings you’re running. This week on The Empowered Educator Podcast, I’m breaking down the 3 conversations every leader should have every week — one with your teachers, one with your leadership team, and one with yourself. ✅ What to ask ✅ How to keep them intentional (not just another meeting) ✅ And how these three touchpoints build connection, alignment, and reflection Because leadership isn’t built in big moments — it’s built in consistent, meaningful conversations that shape culture. 🎧 Tune in to the full episode: https://lnkd.in/duEEKTsu

What a great listen! An excellent reminder to embrace the human side of teaching, especially for alignment of a shared vision and collective intentions. The daily check-ins, particularly with self, I feel is crucial. We certainly can’t pour from an empty cup like you say. Our personal regulation is the anchor for our mindset, motivation and mission and an important part of that is our capacity for self compassion, but how often do we actually give ourselves that grace without guilt?
