Clean up question
While I painted this bed and parts I tried to focus heavily on cleaning before hand not just the panels but the entire shop.I was very happy with the dust control this time. I had a Mosquito land on a mirror I missed. My problem was between base and clear I wet the floor. The part of my air hose the layer in the floor ended up with a wet gummy mess from the clear coat (ppg sc300 ). What I cleaned while wet was slimy and hard to clean what dried on me is like a rock on the hose. Any suggestions to keep hose clean.

Bought this truck for my son and painted it yesterday , we have been working on it for about 3 months now. The information I’ve gotten from the course has really helped give me a better understanding painting. Thanks you the tips and advise.

Dura-Gold Sandpaper any good?
I expect it's a mid-grade product, but I figured that I would ask the collective. Dura-Gold is everywhere, so it's easy to get. But is it any good? Better than Harbor Freight, not as good as 3M? Fine for a daily driver, not worth the time/money for a nice project? Any experience?

I’ve had good luck with the ceramic, but I recently discovered my local jobber will sell me SEM sandpaper for the same price and they stock it.

Hello everyone, Justin Creekmur I’m from western Kentucky, welder by trade but always had more interest in the auto body and painting. Over the years I’ve heard complaints in my area of shops not wanting to metal work or weld on panels anymore. If it can’t be replaced then paint it wasn’t worth the time. We only have one shop in the area specializing in restoration and there backed up months or more on jobs. When I got serious 3 years ago building my own classic truck, I really dug in on learning everything I could. Along the way I traded some panel work for assistance and knowledge to aid my own rebuild journey. After a little push from my local jobber I’m starting to look at some side work ways I can use my welding skills to help others in my area want to have an old car or truck to enjoy. I thank Arron for this page as it has helped a lot and answered a lot of questions. The first thing I learned for my area is autobody shops do not want to teach or discuss how to with anyone and none of the trade schools teach auto anymore. I hope to continue learning and having the opportunity to put what I learn to use.

😂 I had way too much fun making this one
I just uploaded a video covering 5 masking techniques I wish I knew 20 years ago when I first started painting. None of these are crazy tricks. They're just simple things I do on almost every paint job that save time, make blending easier, and help avoid those "well... that was dumb" moments. 😅 If you're doing spot repairs or just want cleaner results without making more work for yourself, I think it might be helpful
