New ad is spitting leads
6 leads in less than 36 hours. Much higher quality leads, too. Shoutout to @Justin Sparks for his advice…I used his exact form fill questions which is helping qualify leads. But I added a notice in the description saying: “This service is NOT cheap! We have a minimum job rate of $2,750. If this is more than you are able to invest in your property, we understand.” I also added an optional “preferred date for onsite assessment” field that has been getting filled out - this is huge for them not ghosting you. We have $8k booked for May, and should have another $20k booked for May before the end of this month. Here is my ad from our marketing blitz day last weekend. I use CapCut to edit, and wireless mic that plugs into the iPhone. The KEY (I think) is to make sure you have a captivating cover image for the video… CapCut helps with this big time and will auto-generate one for you if you want.

@Jeremy Lewis Using the facebook form. You can see my exact questions if you find my ad on the Facebook ad library. Search "brush boys forestry" and you'll see it. The jobber form is on our website.
Advice please! - Marketing blitz this saturday
Me and pops are renting a Bobcat T770 with Fecon head this saturday. We have 4 friends that we will be clearing brush for FREE (about an hour of work at each), in exchange for reviews, video interviews, and as much footage as we can get. We plan to shoot as many different video ad variations that we can get (me, my dad, different backgrounds, different apparel, different messages, etc) in order to stock up enough footage to last through the winter and be able to put up fresh ads. But we also intend to capture as much footage as possible for posting through the winter. PLEASE DUMP ALL THE IDEAS/ADVICE YOU HAVE FOR ME ON WHAT TYPE OF CONTENT WE SHOULD BE AIMING FOR. Here is the setup: -1 operator (my dad) -2 camera operators (me and my friend) -1 drone with 4k (can only fly for 20 minutes at a time) -1 hi-res Cannon camera w/ tripod -3 iPhones for shooting content The obvious ideas so far: -timelapse -before/after photos -post-job interviews with customer -drone before/after photos -drone footage of machine mulching -footage of loading/unloading the machine from the trailer -footage of pre-job site walk with customer -ad footage with machine working in the background WHAT AM I MISSING HERE? WHAT WOULD YOU DO??
@Glen Hutsell it was very good effective at getting a ton of footage! I would have had one more person with me capturing footage (1 operator and two filmers) We have our ad up now and it’s spitting leads
@Darcy Logan definitely get a drone, a camera on a tripod to film long form for timelapse, and someone constantly filming on iPhone. I do wish I would have had another person with me to film.
My 1st 3 full weeks of business running Facebook ads
I'm writing to you guys about this win, because I think some of you need to hear it. You need to hear that this business is real and you can do it if you follow the plan that @Austin Gray laid out so perfectly for us. Follow it and do exactly what he says. You just need to act. Cowboy up, and start buckin. Disclaimer: I have a full-time management job in aviation, so any of this new business idea stuff has to be weekends and afternoons. So keep that in mind while you read this. 5 weeks ago, I had nothing but a plan. No machine, no mulcher, no money. Nothing. I knew i had a small bonus from work coming, so I'd use that as ad money and operating capital. But I started with nothing. But I knew I could do this. I came across OwnrOps on YouTube and started soaking everything up. And I mean I watched it all. Luckily I didn't join any fb groups first, because I probably wouldn't have taken the leap. Most of that crowd is made up of losers and dream busters anyway. I watched all of Austin's starter info and got more excited and pumped the deeper I dove. I finally messaged Austin and asked him if he thought running ads without a machine and booking jobs was a good idea to test my market and my resolve. Well... the first 3 days of running ads, I booked 3 jobs from 4 leads. I was HOOKED. It was thrilling. Here I am... no machine and I'm scheduling jobs. Crazy, right!?! 😆 I needed to see if I could prove my business case to myself, and if it was worth me going and buying a machine. I thought, well... if I can book 3 jobs in 3 days from 4 leads, I'm good to go! So I did. I got financed (easier than financing a 30k car, which was scary) and bought a machine that costs more than my first house. Nuts, right?! It was going great for the first 5 days, then boom! I got stalled by fb- I started running ads 5 weeks ago, but Facebook shut me down for 2 weeks due to card verification problems. So truly my ads have only been spending for 3 solid weeks. Since they started spending, almost everyday I've been quoting jobs after my 9-5. Sometimes 3 and 4 in an afternoon.

Josh, how did the "$250 off per acre" offer pan out? Do you think that helped get more form submissions, based on your conversations with leads?

Winter forestry mulching in Michigan?
NORTHERN CLIMATE FOLKS! Need your advice. What is the consensus on clearing brush in the winter time? New the group here. I am a father-son duo (I am the son) at Brush Boys in southeast Michigan. We are at the end of the season here, so we will be purchasing our Bobcat T770 with Fecon head before end of year. We have 3 jobs booked for April/May to start the 2027 season. We are under the assumption that we cannot operate during the winter due to it being so wet and muddy. Even if it's frozen hard, once you bring the machine in with the amount of heat it generates it would make the ground muddy, destroying the customer's yard, and will create problems for the machine. Is this the case? Honestly, I hope you all tell me that you have successfully done jobs in the winter, but am doubtful it is an option.
