Real fermented foods
In the nutrition class today we talked about gut health and one of the strategies to improve gut health and digestion was to eat real femented foods. Here are a couple brands I use and that are avaliable in major grocery stores. A tsp per meal is lots! Shelf stable pickles and saurkraut are NOT real probiotic foods. Look for real ones in the refrigerated section. Bubbies Wildbrine

I’ve had that Wildbrine before! Thanks for reminding me! I tried to order some real fermented food today from Walmart, but I am not sure I succeeded. I got some pickles and kimchi. I have never had kimchi. This is an experiment!
Viktor Frankl
Britney mentioned Viktor Frankl today in the Nutrition Class. His book is Man's Search For Meaning. I found this short article about him when searching it up. Thought I would share it. It is a short synopsis of the book and the website is about Mindfulness. The Meaning of Life Through the Eyes of Viktor Frankl

I’ll put it on my reading list. Right now I’m reading Atomic Habits!
Never give up....and document your journey!
I saw this video probably 10 years ago and it inspired me. I thought about it today and wanted to share it with you guys. I started this group because I want this kind of transformation for all of you. This isn't about walking again or gaining mobility. This is about becoming the person YOU ALREADY ARE INSIDE and not allowing the limiting beliefs we carry to write the ending of our story.

Shane, I know in my heart what you say is right and doable. But I have been a para now for 35 years. I have actively avoided all mirrors and cameras now for at least the last 15-20 years. Almost to the point of a phobia of sorts. I Know I need to just do it. I know I can. But I am so afraid to look to really look. When I have caught glimpses below my chest, it really has just sickened me and makes me turn the anger inside and despise myself. Oh God, I sound insane. LOL! Ok, enough of my big mouth for now. But I do appreciate what you say and I agree wholeheartedly. I am going to get there!
Happy to be here
Good afternoon! I am so glad I stumbled upon this group! My name is Julie, I’m close to being 59 yrs old. Been a para T5/6 for 36 yrs from car accident. I’m married to a fellow para. We have two adopted grown children. I live in the Show Me State and that’s just how I am—ya gotta show me everything! I love to learn through watching and doing—so this kind of platform is right up my ally My goals are to learn love my body, by taking care of it through losing weight, gaining strength and flexibility. I am not and have never been a person who likes to exercise. I’ve gained a lot of weight over the years and I am just ready to lose it. looking forward to this journey with you all!

@Brittney Neunzig I’m setting my intention to be there! ☺️
Neuroscience and Positivity
According to Neuroscience, if you repeat these 3 phrases each morning, you will start to rewire your brain to become more positive, confident, and grateful 1. "Show me how good today gets." This activates your brain's R.A.S to notice more opportunities. 2. "I'm grateful for.." Gratitude increases dopamine shifting your nervous system into a more regulated, positive state. 3. " can handle anything that comes my way today." This builds self efficacy and reduces threat response to your brain. @LETSGOTHERECEO

I love this! And, I love how Brittany wrote it in the bathroom mirror! I am going to do this too—if I can reach spot on the mirror, lol!
