QUESTIONS ABOUT COMMERCIAL AUTO INSURANCE
I’ve been digging into COMMERCIAL AUTO INSURANCE here in New Jersey, and man… the numbers are wild. 😅 I’ve seen quotes hit $35,000 PER YEAR for my roll-off truck. Out of curiosity, I checked rates in Fort Worth, Texas — where my son lives — and I’ve gotten quotes as low as $7,000 A YEAR. 🤯 Here’s where the confusion starts:One agent says I can classify under EQUIPMENT RENTALS, and another guy says it MUST be DEBRIS REMOVAL. I’m stuck in the middle because, honestly, both are kinda true. I DO rent the dumpster… but I’m also handling debris. And God forbid something flies out of the can and causes an accident — if I’m misclassified, I could be in real trouble. ⚠️ So I’m just trying to figure out WHAT CLASSIFICATION YOU GUYS USE, and what kind of RATES others in the industry are actually getting. My truck is almost 20 YEARS OLD, and I’m only putting a STATED VALUE OF $50,000 on it. Yet these NJ quotes are coming in sky-high — the cheapest so far is $27,000. It seems like PROGRESSIVE is the only carrier even willing to touch this line of work in New Jersey right now. And of course, New Jersey wants $1.5 MILLION in LIABILITY minimum. 🧾💸 Yeah, I could choose equipment rentals just to save some money… but I have a feeling that could come back to BITE ME HARD if anything ever happened. 😬 Any thoughts? Anyone getting decent rates? Any carriers worth checking out?

Well... if it makes you feel any better my first quote with a 2500 and dump trailer was $26k a year. My first policy I actually signed up for was $13k a year, and currently now that I've added another driver and brand new truck to the fleet it jumped upto $25k a year. It's a rough business with insurance costs!

@Richard Breimann You being in NJ certainly isn’t helping!
VINYL LETTERING, STICKERS AND WRAPS
Just curious — do you guys handle your own vinyl lettering, or do you take it to a vinyl shop? 🤔 And what about wraps — do you have a pro do it, or produce it yourself? I’ve seen wraps around here going for about $5K, and even lettering’s not cheap 💸. I’ve used StickerMule and Lettering.com to help my son out before, but it still added up fast. So I’m wondering — did you buy your own vinyl machine and start doing it in-house, or do you outsource everything? I’ve seen one local guy who clearly used stencils and spray paint — quick, sure, but it looks… well, cheap 🫠. I know it’s “just a dumpster,” but branding matters — that two-tone look or clean logo really helps you stand out from the pack 🟡🔴. I really like the job Joe did with his dumpsters — that raccoon logo is a nice touch 🦝👏. There’s also a guy in Josh’s network (forget his name) who’s got a rhino logo — I think his company’s called Rhino Solutions — and it really works. Makes me think I might need to come up with a mascot myself. 🦏💡 I want to make it simple, memorable, and not too busy — something that sticks without looking cluttered. Any suggestions for a mascot or logo concept for Pro Dumpster Rentals? I’m open to creative ideas that still look professional and tough. Also, John at Same Day Dumpsters out in Salt Lake City has a great setup — mixing orange, baby blue, and white trucks. It’s clean, fresh, and stands out without looking overdone. 🎨🚛 Even the big dogs like Republic and Waste Management keep it simple with one centered logo — but since every dumpster’s a rolling billboard, I still want something that pops without breaking the bank 💥. Maybe I’m overthinking it, but I’m chasing that sweet spot between cost and brand impact. Anyone else wrestle with the same decision? 🙏

@Richard Breimann beautifully said my friend! I think I’ll implement that verse into some of the collaboration pieces I do. Thank you for that
✈️ Dumpster Runners Network - Event Planning
We're very close to the official announcement of the next Dumpster Runners Network Event, and I think you'll will be blown away with what is to come. I know people are awaiting an official date announcement so you can plan accordingly, but trust me you'll have time to plan. We're not holding back with this one. We have some HUGE plans from every angle I can think of when it comes to giving the most value anyone has ever seen with one of these shows. We'll have multiple days of networking, education, and blowing off some steam. I have plans for a family friendly event, so you can bring your kids, there will be play grounds, bounce houses, slides, food, and entertainment. I have a poll running to gauge peoples excitement for what category. Please respond to the poll so I know where to channel the most resources, and if you have an idea for a way to improve the show comment below so I can consider it. I started doing these events so we can build a community within the dumpster space. It was founded by a hauler, for haulers, so as far as I'm concerned WE are the number 1 priority. You tell me what you would benefit from, and i'll do my best to provide it. Thank you everyone!

Which sub event is everyone most excited for? 😁 X-Golf (Friday night) Private Hotel Party (Saturday after hours event) Closer Event (Sunday brunch at the hotel)
What to Expect: Spring Training Event March 13-15, 2026
Firstly… Thank you for being here. You just making it to this page shows you have an interest in growing, learning, and collaborating in this industry. While there are a lot of us who like to work together and build each other up, there are plenty more that don’t, and hate the idea of people sharing information and “saturating the market.” In my experience “Collaboration WINS” and there are plenty of big mega corporations we can rally against to take a share of the pie for ourselves and help fellow small business owners succeed and provide a better life for themselves and their families. Now that we got that out of the way let me throw out some house keeping. If you are planning to come to the event here is the important info: Travel and Lodging Information: Airport, Tampa International (TPA) Hotel Block Options: Option A - Current 30 Room Block Comfort Inn and Suites Address: 6206 US-19, New Port Richey, FL 34652 +1 (727) 261-9700 Room Block Link: https://www.choicehotels.com/reservations/groups/SW20B5 Description: Built within the last decade, standard Comfort Inn chain hotel located a short 5 minute walk away from downtown. Large parking lot for big trucks, and parking garage for smaller vehicles. Option B - 38 Total Rooms in Hotel The Hacienda 5621 Main Street, New Port Richey, FL 34652 +17278455621 Room Block (NO Link): Call and reference “Dumpster Runners” for block access. Description: Historic building built in 1927. Catered to many “Hollywood” type celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe, Babe Ruth, and many more. Renovated and reopened to the public in 2022. Located IN downtown. Not a great option for large truck parking, but would be perfect for someone flying in and looking to experience a little piece of history while also staying close to the action. Tickets Information: We have options for just the “Main Event” which will be a Saturday ONLY pass or the full weekend experience, packed with value, networking, and perks. Let’s break those down for you.

@Anthony Del Campo xGolf is directly next to the Main Event venue. Location: 9050 Tryfon Blvd, Trinity, FL 34655 Both venue and xGolf are about a 10 min drive from Hotel blocks.
Customer response time
How fast should customer response time be? The faster the response, the happier the customer, but with the team I found that if we did next day or same day it ended up stressing them.

In a perfect world, same day or next day. The only real caveat to that answer is going to be your inventory size and amount of trucks/drivers. If it’s stressing your team out then ideally you should expand inventory. If you’re not able to do same day or next day you’re likely going to lose a good chunk of business that you’d otherwise have access to. Speed is the name of the game unless you’re competing for lowest price.
