Is it the shoes?
I put this outfit together for a funeral and my wife couldn't get past the shoes. A pair of Stacy Adams "Wayde" plain toe oxford she just kept calling them "sexy shoes." I'm glad I chose them and just a great illustration of how shoes can accentuate an outfit.

Great look! Some suggestions: how you roll up your cuffs can change an entire look of outfit. Think of temperature for outside shirt. With hot weather I'll go with soft plaid shirt. If winter, that same outfit as is with a scarf and boots would be awesome! Great look and keep up the great work!

It's been close to 2 years since i started rebuilding my wardrobe. I was going to build a capsule wardrobe but ended building up my own style. White sneakers and Chelsea boots were my only shoes (gym wear excluded) I was adding t shirts, shirts, jeans but i felt the same. I ended up adding: 11 Shirts 8 short sleeve tees 8 straight leg jeans 7 chinos 4 long sleeve tees 2 long sleeve polo 3 jumpers 1 Sneaker (white) 1 Chelsea (camel) And today, i finally ordered a pair of tobacco colored lace up boots (image attached) after hearing everyone's suggestions and i felt like it gave me a completely new personality and wardrobe. It's just 1 piece of addition but it changed everything! My advice would be that even if you own only 2 pairs of jeans and 3 pairs of tees, consider having atleast 3 footwear (sneakers, boots, loafers) or bare minimum 2. It might look weird recommendations but it'll help you to create different looks.

I taught my son to build up his wardrobe gradually. With limited funds, one only has to buy one garment a month. After 12 months, 12 garments to mix and match. I agree with shoes can change an outfit, it's also one of the first things people look at when they meet someone;-)
The Importance of Fit, Illustrated.
If you spend some time in this community, you'll find that the importance of getting the proper fit to your garments is an ever-present leitmotif. And here is a good illustration of the concept. I bought this Isaia linen sport coat NWT on eBay for a quite reasonable sum. Even though it was listed as a 46R, both my tailor and the Professor (@Brian McGuire) thought that it looked more like a 46L. I tried to live with it as is, but I could never really feel comfortable in it at that length. The challenge was the patch pockets. They would have to be moved in order to shorten the skirt of the coat and my tailor was afraid that the removal would leave needle marks behind. But I gave him the authority to risk it; he did, and needle marks were not an issue. I think the coat just looks infinitely better shortened by 2 inches. Before and after shots below.

My thoughts exactly. I'm a 50R with a small waist. I typically buy jackets to fit shoulders but always have them tailored to not look frumpy. Thank you GQ magazine subscription in the 90s!
Haircut advice
Hello, gentlemen. I was wondering what your all's honest opinions were on fade haircuts. I have usually had them the past 3.5 years, but I have allowed my hair to grow out the past 4 months. I am thinking about getting a low or mid skin fade for the summer, and I realize some in the style community (such as James of Gent Z) don't care for fades, but I am truly debating on whether to keep my hair at my current length or to go back to getting fades. While I will ultimately go with my gut on this in the coming weeks, I am interested to hear your honest opinions/advice, and I feel like this would make for an interesting discussion.

@Jason Rochester but your profile picture looks like it's faded on sides & it looks great.

@Francis Terkper agree completely, but a fade does not mean shaved. A fade cut blends with length on sides. I think Johnny Depp or Patrick Dempsey in 90s haircuts. So yes on fade and maybe start at a #2 on bottom to a higher guard. I myself prefer #1 or 0 guard and fade to a #2 but that's because I keep my hair short. Recently I went to a bald fade for summer like Dwayne Johnson on Walking Tall... which is a serious short fade with a lot of upkeep. Hope this helps
