I always loved movies growing up and really got into Charlie Chaplin when I was in high school, when I found out, he was a one man show and did everything, I asked for a Camcorder for Christmas and starting making short films.

Romantic Comedy Short Film Series I Wrote and Directed
Hey all, I'd love to share 2 short films I wrote and directed, MOVING INTO CHRISTMAS and GIFTLESS CHRISTMAS. They're both about 5 minutes long, and they're the first two shorts in Aaron and Abbyโ€™s Adventures, a romantic comedy series. If you like RomComs, feel free to check them out. Appreciate it! :)

Serious question for filmmakers and creators
When you donโ€™t have the budget you need, do you waitโ€ฆ or find another way forward?Crowdfunding changed things for me. Curious how others here handle this.

Where There's a Will, There's a Way! I've tried crowdfunding, but a lot of it is using the resources you already have! I often use the same actors over and over in projects because I know what they can do, and they are always dependable. Also, locations is key! I often write and produce shorts based on locations I have avaiable to me! And if you live in a small city, business often say yes (for free)! And are very excited about it!
New Movie I Wrote is Now on AMAZON :) Love at First Spite
Hi all, I wrote this movie in 2019, and it's just been released on Amazon! It's been in post-production for the past 4 years, but it's finally out for the world to see!! And I'm super excited about it!!! :) If you like comedy, feel free to support an indie filmmaker! Much appreciated! Here's the Official Movie Trailer, a logline, and the link to rent/buy it on Amazon โžก๏ธ https://www.amazon.com/Love-First-Spite-David-Wingert/dp/B0F7DR3BTQ/ ๐Ÿ’ Love at First Spite โ€“ Two rival siblings and their partners battle in a war of weddings where the first to say "I do" inherits the family house.

@Jonas Marcel Reach out and do marketing. People won't come to you if they don't know about your projects. I send out a lot query emails, but it does pay off! Also, not hearing back is not a no(people assume it is, but it often just means they're busy). I always push out my feature screenplays and producers say yes to the scripts, but they often take months before they read them. But I follow up with them once a month. Even if they don't respond back, a no is not a no until you hear them say it. When I sold my 2nd screenplay, I had a producer interested in the script and she requested it after I sent the logline. After her 2nd response, I would email her once a month and never heard back, but then after 9 months of me emailing her once a month, one night she read it and loved it! And then she bought it! You want be persistent and nice, but not buggy. And always give people the benefit of the doubt. :)
What is this community all about for you?
I love working with all of you. I really do. And i am more then happy to invest a lot of time in making a space with the hope to really help people. So stay with me a moment and help me to make this space the thing i know it can be. just dump your thoughts, like i dumped mine. My goal is to genuinly make this the best filmmaking program out there over the years, that can be afforded by EVERYBODY - but in order to so I need your feedback now. What makes you come back, what would you like to have more of, what is it the direction we can take.

I think for me, it's just finding others who love making filmmaking! And learning more tips and tricks to save cash. I know that's a pretty general answer, haha. Personally, I run a screenwriting community on skool too and I'd love to know more about how you get more members on your community? We do table reads and meetings all about screenwriting (my group is soley about screenwriting) so I'd be down to collab too! Just throwing that out there. :)

I think it's improtant for Screenwriters to know about the production side of things! And I always push my friends to make thier own things. That's why I love collabing with directors
