Weekends
This is the time of the week we all look forward to waking up Matchday mornings maybe feeling nervous or have our own routines for game day Enjoy it everyone go smash it and remember positive mindset and most of all enjoy it two phrases we say to Fred before a game “Be a gold fish” if anything goes wrong forget about it and move on “You never know who could be watching” this is because of how many scouts we see about with our matches but makes him think to always perform the best and also when things get tough react in the right way instead of losing our head and composure Happy weekend everyone good luck
Parent appreciation
Behind every young goalkeeper is a parent making quiet sacrifices that often go unseen. Early mornings, late nights, long drives in all weather… standing on the sidelines in the cold, the wind, and the rain. Washing muddy kits, buying gloves that barely last a season, and always being there—win, lose, or draw. Goalkeeping isn’t the glamorous position. It takes courage, resilience, and a mindset that not everyone understands. And as parents, you feel every save, every mistake, every moment—but you still show up with unwavering support. You’re not just raising a goalkeeper—you’re helping build confidence, character, and strength that will last far beyond the pitch. To all the parents backing their number 1… your sacrifices don’t go unnoticed.

@Leesun Donaldson we don’t realise how much being a parent impacts our goal keepers
How Many Teams?
Until this season, Lewis has only played for 1 team since U8. He is still with that team on a Saturday (U10) but has since been fully called up to play for the U11 team (same club, and we just got his registration email from the FA) and also plays for a different U10 team on a Sunday. And over the summer, he will be playing for all 3 teams in different tournaments 🤯 Does anyone else play for multiple teams? If you are signed with 2 teams who play on the same day, how do you manage it?!

We play for one team but now entering into Saturday and Sunday leagues you have to be careful with game time management and also not over doing it

@Mike Maidens yeah we have had to drop one session a week we train Monday weds Thursday he was also doing Tuesday but with going to Saturday and Sunday league games we found that we need a balance but also we don’t want him to fall out of love with the game because it becomes a chore being forced to training
Positive reinforcement 😍🤩
On Wednesday Wilson had a last minute game, he normally shares game time with another goal keeper but he was away for Easter. So Wilson was given the chance to play the whole match - (back story) most game days Wilson will have a few negative moments before the match and possibly during where I have to try and pull him out he can also get very distracted during the game and be silly. This small gesture was such a boost to Wilson’s confidence he warmed up brilliantly and stayed focused and confident during the whole game. He made some great saves and earnt parents player of the match. I also got a message from the manager of the other team saying how great he played. 🤩💪🏻 Don’t get me wrong we had a couple of little dances during the match but I’m pretty sure this is part of his way to help him focus 🤣🤦‍♀️💙
