OK, so I am new to n8n and struggling to learn it. It's more that I find more questions the more I learn. I think more because I am an IT professional for my career and security is my game. So I keep questioning security, safety, PII protection, hosting, reliability, upgrades, legal stuff, etc. Questions keep coming up. But I'm working through just understanding creating a workflow 1st. As I am doing this I think I found my 1st use case to create something for my Home Owners Association for what's sort of a reservation system for amenities. I don't want to solicit even though it's not but wondering where I can or should post questions and possibly collaborate with others on this? I don't know if I want to own the process or bring in one of you great ppl? I may move and not sure I want to do something forever for free for them. If I do it, it probably will have to be or if I charge possibly a conflict of interest? Anyway I've already got on too long so where is the appropriate place to post my idea and get others input?

chatgpt solution
I am on the $20/month plan on chatgpt. I use daily and it is lagging, slowing down, and I get pop up of unresponsive and then it fixes itself. I can't work on a tool that is slowing. Anybody here have options?

@Terry Hui It really varies depending on what you want to do. ChatGPT is a really good, well rounded LLM agent. Grok I'd be careful with. It is trained on a lot of C (Twitter) content so a lot of false, and very right leaning content. It works great for some things but that could introduce some undesired results. Calude is great at generating code. ChateGPT works well for this but Claude is known for this. Gemini has rose to the top and it and ChatGPT keep battling for who is king. One other option is to run Ollama and/or LM Studio and have locally hosted LLM's but if you don't have a lot of GPU power you can't run the really big models. However for testing and working on the cheap it's great because it's 100% free. I use the free tier of Google cloud to host my n8n and then connect it to my local Ollama or LM Studio instance and can run all kinds of models. DeepSeek being one of them. Be careful with DeepSeek as it is a Chinese company so your info is going off to a known bd actor so if it were me I'r refrain from using them especially if it is using customer data. If things are slow it's probably because of context window getting too big,. Tell ChatGPT your problem and it can save the main pats of the conversation and then you can start a new chat fresh that still has your saved info. I have done this and it makes a world of difference.

@Dave B I run all kinds of models and lay with DeepSeek a little on my MacBook Pro 2.6 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7 16 GB AM I use Ollama for that and it works fine. It's a smaller model, like 7GB rather than the huge models you get on-line but it does th trick in Mose cases.
Best NCA-Toolkit Hosting?
I'm currently hosting my NCA on Google Cloud but its getting costly. Where have you guys found to be best place to host your NCA so that it has the resources it needs but is still inexpensive (or even free) to run? I setup on Google Cloud because I wasn't able to make an account on Oracle free tier What other options do you suggest? Thank you Muzz

@Muzz iEvolv do you do any kind of clustering, load balancing, or have Dev/UAT/Prod environments to test updates, changes and upgrades? That’s one of the processes I’m trying to wrap my head around.
"What If" — The Year I Finally Got Answers 2025
Hey everyone, Wrapping up 2025 with a reflection I wanted to share with this community. The short version: I left a stable contract role this year, pivoted 8 times, and somehow ended up with an interconnected system mapped on a whiteboard a a personal voice assistant, a TTS model I'm training, a B2B2B platform for agencies to white-label AI voice agents, an extensible workflow orchestration system, and tools to help other solo builders ship. The real lesson: Most projects don't die from lack of discipline. They die from discovery fatigue. You start something, hit a capability gap (wrong language, missing skill, unknown domain), detour into learning, and life swallows the project before you return. AI changes this. Not by replacing your vision - by closing the gap between imagination and implementation. I shipped code in Rust, Go, Swift, C. Languages I can read but could never have written full systems in alone. That's not AI replacing me. That's AI multiplying what I could do. The framework that clicked: People talk about "human in the loop." But what we're really building is "AI in the loop." We're the conductors. We bring ideas, vision, course corrections. AI is the orchestra we're learning to lead. It's not a replacement for human teams — it's leverage for people who can't afford one. What I wish I knew at the start: The regret of not trying outlasts the failure. You can always find another job. But the courage to leap makes you stronger than you realise. For anyone sitting on unfinished projects: This is the time. The tools exist. The gap is closable. Don't let this moment pass. Happy to chat with anyone on a similar path. Not selling anything — just want to help. Have a wonderful NYE and a fabulous start of the New Year 🎉 Praney

This is my problem. Constant technology gaps. I’m new to n8n but very seasoned in IT and security. So my brain constantly deviates to how will that be secured, how do you prevent mishaps, what’s the reputation on this, etc. so I stall out going into rabbit holes. Also things like Airtable for instance. I can just take an example someone gave and cookie cutter it. I need to understand how it’s working, how do I master that tool. If something breaks or hits a shift in how it works I need to know it inside and out to support. So I go off on other tutorials, experimenting, testing and end up having lots of 1/2 started efforts. It’s what stops me from really diving all in to start my own side hustle and hopefully turn into quitting my job and being happier, healthier and more freedome.
