An EASY way to reduce anxiety
If, like me, you suffer from a lot of anxiety, I want to give you a really simple and obvious way to reduce it. Often, I find myself putting off small tasks that contribute to my stress levels. For example, I have been riding my motorbike without road tax for months because I haven't prioritized getting it and/or I am just too lazy to go and get it. As a result, I have been anxious every time I have left the house because I don't want to get stopped by the cops and get a fine. However, if I just took an hour to pay the tax, this small anxiety-inducing element would be removed from my daily life. There are MANY small tasks like this that I put off all the time and from time to time I have to remind myself that addressing them can significantly reduce my anxiety overall. It's easy to let these small anxiety inducing annoyances pile up, but before you know it, they become a major cause of anxiety and significantly impact your daily life. It's hard to notice at first because they are all "small things" but when your brain is juggling all of these small things at one time you can feel worn out and not even realize why. No one thing is important enough to really give you anxiety so it's easy to dismiss. However, it's the compounded effect of all of them that can cause stress and really exhaust your subconscious mind. Do you have a bunch of small tasks that you're putting off? Write them down, make a plan to address them tomorrow (all in one day) and trust me you'll see how much better you'll feel.
