Dealing with nay-sayers...

I'm excited about my move to Chiang Mai, my optimism is at a high. The same however cant easily be said about my family and friends, people I care about who would rather I didn't go. I'm hearing things like "but you will be all alone there", "that's too far away, what if something happens", "you don't speak Chinese, no one will understand you"... If there's a reason not to go, I've heard it, and as my departure date approaches, I'm hearing it more. To deal with it, I simply reiterate my reasons for going and invite them to come with me.

If you have people trying to talk you out of relocating to Thailand, how do you deal with it?
