My partner is a super-super fan. We travel a lot to see her. Our next show will be 3/4 in Portland, and we're catching night 3 of the next iteration of Echoes Through the Canyon. We've never missed one of these before, but we're hosting shows in our home the first 2 nights.

Long answer to a short question in 3 parts: 1) We make an annual pilgrimage to Newport for the folk fest (though I suppose Shaky Knees in ATL is a bit further) 2) I made it to the first ever (of what turned out to be a 3 year run for) SXSW in Sydney. Didn't go to see a single particular artist, so... 3) A dozen or more years ago, when I lived on Bainbridge Island, my daughter a friend stay a week with her. We got up at zero-dark-thirty to driver her all the way back to Klamath Falls, OR. At the end of a very, very long day - instead of going to bed (like a sane person), I drove back to Seattle to see Ages and Ages perform at the Tractor Tavern. At the end of the show I was visiting with them at the merch table and told them that I'd driven a thousand miles to see them (from Bainbridge Island) in a single day 😅

@Sherri Goodman we were there a few years ago when the torrential rain came during Waxahatchee's set. Fun times :)

@Erin Moore That one has been on my list for awhile now. I like the energy they put out into the world. I saw all three of the folks you mentioned at last year's Newport Folk Fest.
