LS Fest West
We’ll be at LS Fest Vegas next weekend and would love to meet our Skool members in person. Alan will be there and is looking forward to connecting and seeing what you’ve been working on. If you’ll be there, comment what you’re bringing and where we can find you!

They need to have one in KC. Are you all coming up for RPM Revival??
Clearance Clarence
Did some checking this weekend on the 408 for my Malibu. Got the rings filed ready to go on pistons, just waiting on the rods to get honed and back together we go!

I had a 423” once. It was crazy. 6.0 bored .040” (4.040” bore) with a 4.125” stroke. Made a lot of power. But, that piston dropped down pretty far at BDC. Always thought a 408 would have been a better decision for longevity with not that much difference in power. Keep us (me) up on the build. Curious to see how it goes.

Make sure you watch your clearances with the windage tray. Sometimes a longer stroke will hit. Mine did. Had to use washers to shim it out. Same with rod to block. I dig it!!!

My shop needs one for sure. Maybe the next time I got to Wichita.
Just saying the cheap stuff is cheap for a reason
Picked up a cheap knockoff bracket from Amazon just to test it out and was super disappointed hit it was excepted. Fitment was off and install was a headache. Definitely one of those ‘you get what you pay for’ situations. I’ll be upgrading to an ICT Billet bracket soon.

Installed today in about 10 minutes. “Like a glove” (in my best Ace Venture voice).
Progress on the 94 Sonoma
Been out in the shop a bit making some progress on the Sonoma. ICT Billet accessory drive for Corvette water pump and R4 AC compressor. Fit together like a glove. Now I just need to find the right belt for it. Still gotta cut fuel lines for it and replace the pump and sending unit. Also need to install the power steering box, steering shaft and lines for the power steering pump. That will button up the steering. Need a Malibu power booster for the breaks, then I can place the drivers side coil pack. Hooker transmission crossmember is shit and too far back for the firewall clearance (gonna have to weld a bracket together for that). Need a throttle and trans kickdown cable bracket too. Still a ways off. But… we’re getting there! Cheers all!!!
