Picking a Dress Watch
My friend is getting promoted to General and invited my wife and I to his promotion ceremony. I’ve been looking to add a new watch to the collection and I figure this is the perfect excuse. Looking for recommendations in the $1,000 range.

@Daniel Vellone The Tissot Gentleman is a modern classic. I understand your enjoyment.

Where's Waldor?
Today - he's with me. The Waldor Chrono 44 Como for my Blue Monday submission. Can definitely tell we're in the holiday season as all of my coaching calls "postponed" today. Ha! Well, Waldor and I shall fill the time with outgoing calls (cattle prods). I do love the mesh bracelet and light reflection. The caseback is cool, too. Specifications Case diameter: 44 mm Case thickness: 11.2 mm Material: Rhodium-plated 316L stainless steel Dial: Blue sunray dial in brass Index & hands: Luminous stainless steel Glass: Sapphire Crystal Movement: Seiko VD34 Water Resistance: 10 ATM (snorkeling) Strap: Rhodium-plated 316L stainless steel strap Strap size: Onesize, fits all wrists The video is my stunt double

WOTD- Blue Monday December 15th: Alpina Alpiner Extreme
This one doesn’t get worn as much as it should. A great piece. Very thin too!

My recovery watch
I’ve seen some posts about real life Superheros recently and there have been various options on the topic. While I am in the camp that first responders, hits close to home as my father was a firefighter, military personnel, teachers, and medical personnel can be in a “hero” category, I’m not one to say “Super”. However for a time, we’ll before my time and probably most of us, there was a man who was board line a “Superhero” based purely on speed as for a time, Chuck Yeager was the fastest man alive. It’s no secret that I have a fancy for the AVI-8 line of watches and when I saw one that honored both Chuck Yeager and the Bell X-1, I had to have it. It symbolizes over coming adversity, pushing yourself to achieve more, and seeing what can be accomplished when differences are put aside and everyone focuses on a goal.
