@David Glass I read many of the 1960s Tom Swift books. I also had access to some of the first generation series at my grandparents' house. Those were a real trip back in the 60s. Does anyone remember "Tom Swifties"? They were jokes that played on the pervasive use of creative adverbs in the books.
