Let’s talk Client retention ♾️
We all love getting new clients but the real money, stability, and peace of mind come from keeping the ones we already have. I want to hear everyone’s take on this 👇 What are the small things you do that keep your clients coming back month after month? Is it your conversation? Your service? The way you make them feel when they sit in your chair? For me, client retention isn’t about being the best cutter in town it’s about building trust and connection. People remember how you made them feel, not just the fade you gave them. Drop your thoughts, tips, or even struggles in the comments let’s help each other build stronger relationships with our clients and turn first-time visitors into loyal regulars. Who’s down to share some game? 👇🔥

I agree with Daniel. Personally I think it’s small details I remember along with how I make clients feel (seen & heard). I’m not the best at cutting, I’m not the fastest nor do I create “blurry fades” all the time but I am clean, reliable, & I work in an inviting environment for the most part. I feel like environment alone does so much in making clients want to come back.
Let’s Talk Clippers: Tools for Precision and Efficiency✂️💈
Let’s talk about the bread and butter of every barber’s toolkit—clippers! The right clippers can make or break your efficiency and the quality of your cuts. Here are my go-to clipper tools and why I rely on them: 1. Wahl Magic Clip (Cordless) The Wahl Magic Clip is a staple in the barbering world for a reason. It’s lightweight, powerful, and perfect for blending, fading, and precision work. The stagger-tooth blade makes it easy to achieve smooth, seamless blends, and the cordless design provides freedom of movement. 2. BabylissPRO FX3 & FX870 (Cordless Clippers & Trimmers) These are my workhorses for sharp, clean lines and detailed edging. The BabylissPRO FX3 is excellent for bulk cutting and fading, while the FX870 trimmer delivers crisp outlines and sharp details. Plus, their motors are powerful and run super smooth. 3. Andis Master Cordless Clipper This clipper is a beast when it comes to heavy-duty cutting. It’s reliable for handling thick hair, precision fading, and bulk removal. The adjustable lever gives me the flexibility to customize my cuts with ease. 4. Wahl Detailer (Cordless Trimmer) The Wahl Detailer is my go-to for clean, sharp edge-ups and designs. The T-wide blade allows for closer trimming, making it perfect for crisp hairlines and beard detailing. 5. Andis Slimline Pro Li This trimmer is lightweight and versatile—great for finishing work and beard detailing. Its compact size makes it easy to maneuver around the ears and necklines. Why I Use These Clippers: ✅ Precision & Control: They deliver clean, consistent cuts every time. ✅ Versatility: Perfect for fades, tapers, designs, and beard work. ✅ Comfort & Ergonomics: Lightweight and easy to maneuver. ✅ Professional Quality: Built to withstand daily use and stay sharp longer. When investing in clippers, prioritize quality, comfort, and durability—these are tools you’ll use every day, so make sure they meet your needs! What clippers are you rocking with right now, and why do you love them? Let’s chat in the comments!

@Francis Chan the blade crunch I had on some old scull clippers from Mexico was unmatched! But the Plays overall work for me

🌅 The Power of a Solid Daily Routine
Barbers! 💈 Want to level up your craft, business, and mindset? It all starts with a solid daily routine. Consistency is the secret sauce to success—both behind the chair and in life. ✅ Start Your Day with Purpose: Begin your mornings with intention. A focused mind leads to focused results. Whether it’s meditation, affirmations, journaling, or a quick workout—set the tone for the day. 💪 Time Blocking = Productivity Hack: Prioritize tasks that push you closer to your goals. Block out time for skill-building, client outreach, and social media. You’ll be amazed at how much you can achieve when you control your schedule instead of letting it control you. ✨ Evening Reflection for Growth: Take a few minutes to reflect on your day. What went well? What can you improve? Consistent reflection sharpens your skills and mindset. 🌟 Challenge: Drop your current morning routine or a new habit you want to implement in the comments! Let’s hold each other accountable and crush our goals together! Stay sharp, stay focused, and keep grinding! 🔥

More like a Tuesday routine but I want to do a deep clean at my station to start the week. Also I struggled with tracking my income so now I write what I’ve made at the end of the day on a calendar. I got a solid three months done!
Barbershop Dilemmas: How Would You Handle This?
We’ve all had those awkward moments in the shop—late clients, miscommunication, or unexpected situations. I once had a client show up 20 minutes late, expecting the full cut. Instead of stressing, I calmly explained my policy and gave them two options. They weren’t happy at first, but by staying professional, I kept control of the situation and earned their respect. How have you handled a tough situation behind the chair? Or if you haven’t yet, how would you handle it? Drop your thoughts below! 👇

Best thing I ever did was establish a no call no show policy. I try to be very understanding of people’s situations so during the week I’m a little more lenient. Saturdays I start at 5 am & am booked up most of the day so it’s hard to give the clients a pass if they don’t show or are late. It’s always awkward but at the end of the day we are adults and we have to be responsible & held accountable.
💈 What Booking System Do You Use? Let’s Talk! 📅
Barbers, your booking system can make or break your business. Are you using Square, Booksy, Squire, or another platform? Or are you still taking DMs and texts? Drop a comment below and let’s share what’s working (or not working) for you! 👇🔥

I’m currently using Booksy with the boost option. It’s okay I occasionally get new clients from it. I try not to take dms or texts but some people still like to text for availability. Some time ago I got a business number that I respond to only during business hours. A combination of both has really helped separate my business & personal life.
