I'd love to give a special shout-out to our newest membership mentor, Gemi Moon. Gemi recently passed certification in The Reverse Engineer (very difficult) and was asked to be a mentor for this community. Gemi is very talented in her own right, but she also has a lot of love and compassion for other musicians. If you book calls with her, you'll quickly find that she's not only helping you get better but also giving you a bit of joy and confidence in your day. She has that kind of energy! This is the year we fight back. We fight. We battle our demons. Maybe we battle the part of us that scrolls social media instead of making music. Maybe we battle the part of us that overthinks everything. Maybe we battle the voice that says we can’t. Maybe we battle the distractions that pull us away from our goals. Maybe we battle the feeling that we don’t belong. Maybe we fight the voice that always says, “Maybe tomorrow.” And all of us are fighting against a soulless, artificial world. The world is in a strange place right now. It needs your voice. It needs your art. It needs your passion. There are people out there who need to be inspired, and you’re the only one who can do it. Or maybe you’re an engineer. There are artists who need you to help bring their voice to life. And you’re the one who can do it. This is the year we fight back.

For those who don't know, for the last 6 months or so I've been hosting weekly Music Composition calls on Wednesday evenings for Mastering.com Members. We went through a 6-week course that taught music theory, composition and arrangement concepts. After that, the students wrote to practice sync-briefs and shared their work in the calls for feedback. It's been a fun experience watching everyone in the course learn and up their composer chops, and learning from / collaborating with each other. With the holidays coming up, I'll just be doing one more of these feedback calls to wrap up for 2025, and will start them back up again in mid January next year. Thanks to all the peeps who have been coming to the calls and helping each other learn and grow. P.s.
