Reflecting on 2025
In this video, I talk through how I am reflecting on 2025. I am gathering numbers and notes from as many places as possible so I can see the full picture. I am looking at: 1. Revenue streams 2. Spending 3. What I created 4. Audience growth 5. How I spent my time 6. My well being Next week, I will go live again and share my actual numbers. Then we will zoom out and create our big five year vision. From there, I will work backward to one year using a 12 week year pie graph. That sets me up to choose my next 12 week goals together in February without burnout. Reflection first. Planning second. Goals Third. Momentum follows.

I'm going to set up my clickup notes to include those 6 things... and maybe my bullet journal as well so next year it's easier :-) 1. Revenue streams 2. Spending 3. What I created 4. Audience growth 5. How I spent my time 6. My well being

Welcome!
Big moment I want to share with you
Tomorrow I’m leading a virtual workshop for 200 people and every single one of them already has my journal in their hands. This is a first for me and I’m honestly so excited. A foundation reached out and asked me to speak. I offered my journals at a discount. They said yes and bought one for every participant and mailed them out as a Christmas gift. I used Amazon MCF to fulfill the order and it worked beautifully. Yes, it was a little pricey during the holidays. Prices definitely shift depending on timing. Still 100 percent worth it. There is something really powerful about teaching when everyone is holding the same tool and we are learning together in real time. Note to self. Remember to ask for screenshots of everyone holding up their journals. That will be epic. Sharing this as a reminder of what is possible when you say yes, make it easy to buy, and trust the process. Grateful. Excited. And cheering all of you on as you build your own firsts.

I get asked this question all the time
Are your journals and books profitable? It’s such a good question. And it’s also a really hard one to answer with a simple yes or no. Because before you choose any business path, you deserve to know two things: Is this a viable opportunity in general? And is it viable for you? Here’s what I’ve learned the long way. People say “it takes money to make money,” and for a long time I nodded along without really understanding what that actually meant in real life. Now I do. Even the most “simple” business costs something. A book on Amazon KDP still costs money. Marketing costs money. Ads cost money. Designers cost money if you hire them. Time absolutely costs money too, even when we pretend it doesn’t. And when you move from print on demand into physical products like journals and planners, the stakes change again. You’re paying for shipping and inventory. You’re often paying for your next restock before the first one has fully paid you back. Cash flow becomes the real game, not just sales. I’m not sharing this to scare anyone. I’m sharing it because this is the part people skip when they sell the dream. Yes, you can start scrappy. Yes, you can grow organically. Yes, platforms like TikTok Shop can reduce upfront costs. But none of that is free. You’re either paying with money or with time. And eventually, if you want to scale and buy back your time, most people will need to invest money too. Here’s the part I think matters most. Before you build a business, even a small one, even a nine dollar Skool, you need to understand your own finances. Not in a scary way. In an empowering way. Because when you know your numbers, you make decisions from clarity instead of fear. You stop chasing shiny ideas. You stop comparing your chapter one to someone else’s chapter ten. You choose growth that fits your real life, not someone else’s highlight reel. Income without burnout is not about avoiding effort. It’s about choosing effort on purpose. It’s about asking: What can I sustain?
