Neuroscience and Positivity
According to Neuroscience, if you repeat these 3 phrases each morning, you will start to rewire your brain to become more positive, confident, and grateful 1. "Show me how good today gets." This activates your brain's R.A.S to notice more opportunities. 2. "I'm grateful for.." Gratitude increases dopamine shifting your nervous system into a more regulated, positive state. 3. " can handle anything that comes my way today." This builds self efficacy and reduces threat response to your brain. @LETSGOTHERECEO

Thanks for this. I think I have been on off depressed since my injury.
Alcohol
Okay. I have been in this journey with alcohol. I noticed how I just want to feel better. But I find myself having a drink here and there. I don’t know why honestly I do that after. It having it for a bit. There’s no point. Does anyone have any tips? I mean I feel like I over analyze and dwell on things am somewhat anxious over things so I think it’ll help chill me. I am even talking about like 1/2 a shot. I started having 1/2 drinks long ago to help cut down while still feeling like I’m having more when I’m not. It helped me a lot. But I still go for that 1/2. It’s a waste. There’s no point to poisoning my body. Any advice? I would love to also not boredom eat. That’s a huge one.
Skin stuff
I’m just going to ask something open and well here goes To those in wheelchairs all day do y’all ever get any clogged skin like bumps? I mean it’s summer and even through the year I get them. The doctor gave me clyndamycin for it before. How do yall prevent that? I want smooth skin haha. Any advice is welcome. And my stage two is doing fantastic I’d say by a couple weeks it should be almost all the way gone. I also did t want those bumps to turn into a sore either lol

@Brittney Neunzig I’ll actually show my doctor this time. I rly hate that just because of atrophy I feel so vulnerable hahaha but yea they can help im sure. I’ll be sure to show my doc when I have my annual va appt. It’s a different doctor since we moved last year so even a second opinion is great they may have another thing to help it.

My stage 2 sore is almost a stage 1 yay!!! I have been taking more vitamins and eating well and taking sooo much protein well it feels like so much to me haha. 🤣 so I started wearing my Apple Watch and set it up to have notifications from this app called reminders. It’s not the Apple app but it actually has recurring minutes on there so I have a reminder for pressure reliefs every 30 minutes now and then I have my timer on my watch set up as my favorite so i can easily hit the minute timer and do a relief. That way I will always be notified and I should have been way better with that. But anyway I am now. And every hour or two I lay off my butt for about 30-60 minutes so that helps so much. I’m happy. No swimming until this is healed but family visits in two weeks so I should be good by then. I’m happy. 😊 plus it’s been raining a ton here so it worked out. I got this!

I may continue to lay off my butt here and there anyway during the hot months as prevention. It’ll only help.
