Today would have been my dad’s 86th birthday. ❤️🙏
Today would have been my dad’s 86th birthday. I lost him in September, and as you can imagine, days like today invite a lot of quiet reflection. The very first Smidgen Post has been created with that feeling in mind. This artwork is about reflection pausing, remembering, and holding space for the people who shape us. It reflects his life, and the way I still feel him with me, especially when I’m making art. The pic below is of him and me on his 70th birthday and amazingly he flew me round our local area in the plane behind, it was an experience that will stay with me forever 💜✈️ If you choose to join Premium, this is what you receive: - ✉️ The Smidgen Post a monthly piece of original artwork, sent with care - 🌿 A slower, more intentional creative space to return to each month - 💛 Artwork made with meaning, not mass-produced, always personal This first print is already waiting inside Premium, ready to be claimed. It feels really special to be sharing this one it’s gentle, thoughtful, and full of heart. If it resonates with you, you’re very welcome to join us. Sometimes art says the things we can’t quite put into words. A smidgen of calm, Kate

A Day at the Museum ✨
Today was one of those proper artist dates that fills your cup right up. I spent the day at the Victoria and Albert Museum filming, wandering, noticing details, soaking in texture, pattern, colour… all the things that make my creative heart do a little skip. I captured so much footage (brilliant 🙌)… which does mean I now have a rather large editing mountain to climb 🙈 but it will be worth it. Museums are funny places they’re not just about what’s on the walls. They’re about ideas. Craftsmanship. Stories. The quiet reminder that humans have always felt the need to make things. For now, here are a few little glimpses from my day before I disappear into editing mode ✂️🎥 And tonight… we’re off to the West End to see Matilda The Musical 🎭✨ From museum corridors to theatre lights I’d say that’s a pretty perfect London day. 🙌🏻❤️

Omg I actually did it ! 🥳🎬🍿🎥
I made my first proper video today and I am honestly so pleased with it. Considering it is my first attempt, it feels like a big little milestone for me and I had so much fun putting it together. It is not perfect, but it feels very me and that is what matters.🥰👌 Now I am wondering… should I put it on YouTube? I would love to hear what you think. Would you watch longer videos from me over there, or do you prefer things to stay here in the community? Your thoughts would really help as I figure out this next step. 🧐

Awesome! Curious please: Editor used? Torn about Youtube. Social Media in general, as it were. The landscape is shifting, for sure. I think this Skool thiong is going to explode and essentially be those things. I just hope the Skool team keeps doing everyone right and doesn't go down a slipperry slope. I feel good here - the last thing I want is to have my community discussion group start suddenly getting ads popping up for other things. You know, like what FB became and so on. Having said that- I thin You tub may work out to a degree, but it's a building process- cracking that algorythm takes time. But hey- you couldd also go viral at the drop of a hat.

Oh Lord, I’m just now seeing all of my typos. Sorry about that. I chopped up a couple fingers on a table saw back in the end of 2004 anyway, I’m really bad about checking. I type and run.

I am working on some editing which isn’t ready yet but I’ve just had a look back through my archives to these. This was last year and my filming style is different now I think so I am learning 🥰 I really love print making so if it’s something you think you would enjoy then I am definitely down to teaching 🙌🏻🥰 This is a dry point etching. There’s two videos to enjoy so make sure to swipe across. I hope you enjoy Mr Crab 🦀
