London is a busy place… full of noise, movement and people rushing from one place to the next. But today I found something a little unexpected a pocket of calm right in the middle of it all. While I was exploring and filming, I came across a moment of real quiet. The kind where the world slows down for a minute and you can just breathe. I made a little video of it to share with you. I’m now homewards bound after a very full couple of days and honestly my brain is a little too done for hours of editing tonight 🙈 so for now here’s a small snippet from my time away. Sometimes even the busiest places can offer us a moment of stillness if we pause long enough to notice it. I hope this little moment of calm finds you wherever you are today. Kate 🌿

Today was one of those proper artist dates that fills your cup right up. I spent the day at the Victoria and Albert Museum filming, wandering, noticing details, soaking in texture, pattern, colour… all the things that make my creative heart do a little skip. I captured so much footage (brilliant 🙌)… which does mean I now have a rather large editing mountain to climb 🙈 but it will be worth it. Museums are funny places they’re not just about what’s on the walls. They’re about ideas. Craftsmanship. Stories. The quiet reminder that humans have always felt the need to make things. For now, here are a few little glimpses from my day before I disappear into editing mode ✂️🎥 And tonight… we’re off to the West End to see Matilda The Musical 🎭✨ From museum corridors to theatre lights I’d say that’s a pretty perfect London day. 🙌🏻❤️

Today would have been my dad’s 86th birthday. I lost him in September, and as you can imagine, days like today invite a lot of quiet reflection. The very first Smidgen Post has been created with that feeling in mind. This artwork is about reflection pausing, remembering, and holding space for the people who shape us. It reflects his life, and the way I still feel him with me, especially when I’m making art. I’m currently in London for a very exciting Artist’s Date… and tomorrow I’ll be filming from the beautiful Victoria and Albert Museum (the V&A!) I honestly cannot wait to take you with me. 🥳🎨🎨 There’s something about stepping into a museum with intention. Not rushing. Not ticking boxes. Just wandering, noticing, absorbing. I’ll be sharing what an Artist’s Date can look like inside a space like this the details, the textures, the quiet inspiration hiding in corners. This evening, Holly and I went for a little wander through London. A gentle mooch. A bit of shopping. Time together. And of course… I absolutely could not walk past Liberty London without popping in 🙈 You all know me. I went in “just to look” 🙈… and came out with beautiful paper. Because truly, is there anything more hopeful than fresh paper? The promise of it. The weight of it. The quiet possibility. Moments like this remind me why I love creative living so much. It’s not always the grand gestures sometimes it’s paper in a bag, a daughter by your side, and the buzz of London in the air.❤️ I’ll be filming tomorrow and sharing it with you soon. Today I filmed my train journey to London. From Teignmouth to Exeter, the sea runs right alongside the tracks, and it felt too beautiful not to share. This stretch of coastline always slows my breathing. The waves keep their own rhythm, completely uninterested in schedules or destination boards. It’s one of those in-between spaces where nothing is required of you. If today feels a bit loud, let this be a small pause. Just movement, water, and a moment to breathe.
