I use Drip drop mix in my fuel belt containers.

@Kristine Owen Wood I’ve been using it for a few years now. It tastes the best IMO and doesn’t taste like salt as some do. https://dripdrop.com/?srsltid=AfmBOoqwB5KJFZenem68HpHmYXgtS95bjpDDIc6dyjAArNqYfp6ul64o

Just got in for the Napa Valley Marathon on 3/7/2027 which hopefully will be my 3rd by the time we get there. I’m looking for a late fall race for my second. Has anyone run the Route 66 marathon n Tulsa?
Post Shoulder surgery training.
Has anyone gone through a rotator cuff/shoulder surgery and trained on the other side in here? I’m supposed to have a procedure late August and hope to start a marathon training block in October. Is this a safe plan or even logical?

I like to say miles matter. I had an older training plan that had me running for time and not specific miles. The trouble comes in when your long run is set for two hours or three hours on the day that could be 13 miles or 18 miles. I like setting the miles in training so on race day i can say i did that when i pass the mile markers.
Triathlon to the marathon
After many years of long and short course triathlons at 45 i decided if i would ever be able to complete the 140.6 Ironman i needed to give 26.2 a shot. I entered the Chicago lottery and like a million other didn’t get in so i selected Richmond in 2025 as my first. This race was my fathers first marathon back in the 80s and the town i grew up in so it was a great experience going back home for MFM. The training went amazingly with no injuries (goal #1) finished the race (goal #2) and just missed my last goal of sub 5 miles. I met you Taylor in the start corral and learned about the podcast. I’ve listened to nearly all the episodes now and enjoy it very much. Waiting for the registration to open for my second marathon in 2027.

@Norah St Peter it was so nostalgic running through neighborhoods i grew up in and have t been back to in 25 years. The section n river road on the south side of the river was amazing.

Just a dude that decided he liked running in his 40s. I did long course triathlon and figured if i was ever going to do a 140.6 i needed a marathon
