Condensing the Action
I've now read 3 other Forge members' scripts that i believe are really good at just getting to the point in their Action. I know there's more of you out here. My ask? How would you economize the following Action segment? -------------------------- She turns and sprints back towards the office. Jacob continues walking, his drink in hand, almost smiling as he walks past the now empty therapy rooms. At the elevator, he looks down an adjoining darkened hallway. The entrance is blocked by a cable attached to two stanchions. Jacob looks around then stealthily slips over the cable into the hallway. He’s the only person on the floor. It’s dark other than light coming from a frosted window on a door near the end. He slowly moves towards it. As he gets closer, the sound of faint voices is heard. Screaming voices.

What's Everyone's Go-To Screenwriting Software?
Tell us if it's paid or free (and if it's free, what are the limitations? Only 3 free scripts at a time, etc.). If you're not using screenwriting software, what are you using?

Final Draft. Significantly cheaper if you can buy it thru a student email address.

@Ian Campbell Oh yeah, at this point I've only used the basic formatting part and also the beat board feature. I don't know if other software offers this, but it has a good "Find and replace" feature when you change names of your characters. So far it's not missed a single one, when I've used it for that.

Here's my revamped opening I'd love some more feedback on. Logline: A young couple in the year 2050 discovers the catastrophic secret behind a medical remedy that would provide universal well-being.

@Temycka Carpenter Carlton I like your style of writing action. Brief, clear and to the point. One of my writing goals is to better economize my words like this.
Sprint ideas
Hello Forge people, I was listening to David in tonight's call and thinking that I could probably use some exercises to improve some specific parts of writing. For instance, write a great opening, write a specific description, write great dialogues, etc. I was wondering if anyone would be interested: maybe once a week or once a month, we get a common writing challenge and we compare results/give each other notes? I feel like it could be a good way to improve on specific aspects. Let me know if anyone is interested in this. Cheers

What is the exercise? What is supposed to be done with the script of 5 easy pieces?
Here's the Great Work from Tuesday's Session - 2-3-26
Lots of really rich pages here, with great themes. And an international crew no less! @Chad Desrochers from Canada with a supernatural thriller. @Lena Lieuvin, all the way from Paris with a brooding psychological short. And @Anna Fermin from Portugal with a This-is-Us type drama, about the cost of trying to balance work life with family responsibilities. And a huge thanks to everyone else who showed up to read parts, narrate and offer heartfelt feedback on the hard work of their fellow writers. If you're in the room you know we're building something special here, people. And if you haven't been in the rooms, join us for the next Premier Coaching Session, Friday at 12 p.m. Pacific Time.

I always enjoy the mental journeys we go on together as our scripts unfold. And of course the sharing of ideas and the back & forth is an inner- weekly highlight. Thanks to all of us.
