KNOCK SENSORS
ICT Billet knock sensor relocation for gen 3 5.3. Dirty Dingo mounts. Space is very tight and struggling to get mounted to block. Thoughts? Safely jack engine up to install ? Passenger side is good, just cant get enough room to start bolt on drivers.

Are the Dirty Dingo mounts the flat engine mount adapters or full engine mounts? got any pictures of those areas of the block?

If it has an LS or LT Gen V in it, you’re in the right place. Post this first: - Vehicle (year/make/model) & engine/trans: - Swap stage (planning, parts, wiring, first start, driving): - Photo or video (optional but encouraged): Rules: - LS or LT builds only - No spam, no selling. No links unless they help someone fix a problem. - Ask real questions. Give real answers. Help others move their build forward. - Post photos or video when you can. @Michael Swafford oh I need some pics of that!
Bottom end decisions
OK guys, I need some opinions about my 6.0L build. It was a core engine that I picked up cheap and ended up only being a collapsed lifter, everything else looks fine. I'm already going to be removing the rotating assembly to install new bearings, but at what point do I go with a better than stock rotating assembly? this is a Gen 4 engine, so I know the internals can handle a bit more in stock form, but at what point do I go ahead and start swapping parts out? its kind of turning into a "well, since I'm already here" type of thing, and I'm not sure that's warranted

well, here is the kicker. I'm not PLANNING on going boosted. However, I am installing a corvette spacing ATI balancer that has the capability of adding the LSA 8 rib pulley on it. So if I ever come across a smoking deal on a Magnuson or an LSA blower, I will already be set up for LSA accessories.
The Rebuild
When I joined, I didn’t have swap on the horizon. My swap I competed in 2018 and have been refining it since. But I was happy with the results and was focusing on other areas like body work. Everything was running smoothly until it wasn’t. On Memorial Day 2026 I took the car out for a joy ride, and merging onto the highway shifting 2-3 the engine let all the magic smoke out. 🥺 The autopsy is still on going but it looks like piston #7 broke up on re-entry and spread wreckage throughout the engine before it locked up. So now I’m facing a rebuild and unraveling 8 years of work and jury rigs and starting over. I was using a 2009 L76 from a G8. My new donor is a 2004 LQ4 which I’m going to covert to a Gen4 spec engine reusing as much of the L76 parts that I can. First order of parts is coming in today or tomorrow with block off plates and conversion adapters. The new build is going to be designed with survival in mind. I’m downgrading the cam for less HP and more torque as it’s just a street car and power cruiser. Head and bottom end studs rather than bolts. Gen4 pistons with a bigger gap than I ran last time.

@Eric Harmer that is some major carnage! what fuel where you running and how many pounds of boost?

@Eric Harmer ahh, understood. probably not much you could have done about a mechanical failure on the wastegates part.
Exhaust loop for l83
Hey guys, does anybody know the measurement of the passenger side exhaust loop for a 2014-2018 Silverado? I'm getting ready to do some much-needed exhaust work and don't want to have the nasty clap trucks get due to the unequal exhaust flow. K&N wouldn't give me the overall length, and I'm not buying theirs for 150 bucks when I have the pipe at home.

Jeff. I did find a couple images of loops on that generation of Silverado. Assuming a 3" diameter 180 degree bend is 4.5" center radius and has 6" legs, then adding a second loop with out the legs. the centerline length looks to be roughly 40.25" long for the entire loop. here a picture found of a loop i used as reference for this measurement. also, here is a link to a tiktok video I found of an exhaust loop on an 18 Silverado, but this loop looks like just the 180's only without any leg in the middle of the loop. you can still see he did use an X pipe as well. https://www.tiktok.com/@tachosmufflershop/video/7485155776773000494
