Text needing melody
This is a song I wrote for trauma survivors; there are many in my church family. I hope to sing this over them one day, in the right setting. I have a working melody but it might be a little predictable, so I'm looking for other ideas. God of comfort, God of healing, We invite your Spirit here. Sit beside us in our grieving, Catch our shed and unshed tears. Help us lay our burdens on your shoulders, Learn to trust you with our pain. You can surely bear our grief and anger And will never turn away. God of comfort, God of healing, May we taste your perfect peace? Give us patience in the waiting For the wounds yet to be healed. When we wrestle with a past still with us, And a body keeping score, You are present in the mess and chaos - Help our spirits to let go. (Help us in our letting go?) God of comfort, God of healing, Through your trauma and your death, Lead us to a deeper freedom We will claim with every breath: Hallelujah to the Lord of Heaven, Broken willingly for us, Weaving light through every strand of darkness ‘Til the night is overcome. Hallelujah to the Lord of Heaven, Broken willingly for us, Weaving light through every strand of darkness ‘Til the night is overcome.

Wow, these lyrics are very powerful! Here is a melody idea for the song. I attached two melody ideas 🎶 (I had a different b section for one of them)

@Keiko Ying excited to see how God will use your song to encourage those who have experienced trauma and pain in their lives.
Taste And See
This song is based off of Psalm 34. Would love to hear your feedback and suggestions. Verse 1 As we come to Your table with our hunger and our thirst We come longing for more than bread alone We are led to Your feast where now our cup will overflow Taste and see all the goodness He has shown Chorus Oh taste and see that the Lord is good Our Shepherd King giving all we need In our highest joys, through our deepest pain Oh taste and see that the Lord is good Verse 2 Many are the afflictions of the righteous ones You’ve called Oh how long will this heavy trial last? I will cry for Your help Yes He will hear our every plea You will hold us until these nights are past Verse 3 Come and sing of His praises every morning day and night With each breath bless the Lord in all your days I will sing in the valleys, I will sing on mountain tops Through the joys, through the pain I lift my praise

@Sarah Steele thank you for the feedback! Someone else who I shared this song with also made that same suggestion about it being a song before communion. I really like your suggestions for verse 2 and verse 3. I am going to write some more lyrics around the theme of communion.

Text for Co-Writing
I wrote this text a little while back, but have never been totally happy with any of the tunes I’ve tried. If anyone has any ideas, I’d love to hear someone else’s take on it! I Am His 1). My heart cannot contain the whole Of all the joy that fills my soul; For Christ has looked upon my sin, And still He bids me come to Him. He sees my every fault and shame, And yet He calls to me by name; And so I leave all else behind; For I am His and He is mine. 2). For He is mine, and I am His In me He dies; in Him I live In Him I move, in Him I breathe In Him my joy is made complete. In Him my sins are washed away, In Him I’m cleansed of guilt and shame. In Him I know the riches of The Father’s mercy and His love. 3). How can it be that Christ should die For such a lowly wretch as I? Why should he bleed for my offense? Why should I gain His righteousness? What boundless love, what endless grace That Christ would suffer in my place For He has died that I might live; He bore my sin to make me His. 4). My heart cannot contain the whole Of all the joy that fills my soul For Christ has conquered all my sin And rose to walk in life again. Now as He lives, so too shall I, For in His triumph death has died; And so I leave all else behind For I am His and He is mine.

Hey Reid, love the lyrics that you wrote for this song. Here is another melody idea 🎶
melodies in need of lyrics
Do any song titles or lyric ideas come to mind when you hear these melodies? I had one idea for the upbeat melody, but would love to hear more ideas. upbeat song idea: I love how the Psalms call us to loud and joyful praise. I like how Psalm 33 says to praise him with loud shouts. "Sing to him a new song; play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts" Looking for chorus ideas that capture that energy. The first line could be something like Come sing and shout with joy or Come make a joyful noise. What ideas do you have? slow melody: is a verse melody and still could use a chorus melody upbeat melody: includes a verse and chorus melody

Melody in Need of Lyrics
Posted this in another thread on accident. Here’s a mid/uptempo idea I’ve had if anyone wants to add lyrics. I’m thinking a call to worship.

Really liked the melodic ideas for the song. One idea for the song title is There Is No One Like Our God. It could be interesting to have the verse structure be question and answer. Also the last line of the chorus would be there is no one like our God. Verse idea Who has formed the ocean depths? Who has raised the mountain peaks? You are God, there is no one like our God “ ?“ “ ?” You God, there is no one like our God Brainstorming ideas for the verses: Verse 1: majesty and power of God Verse 2: there is no one like our God because he shows undeserved grace and mercy towards us Chorus: could highlight the contrast of Gods holiness and power but also giving us grace and showing mercy
