Hey Damian let me join the crowd in giving you BIG props on the UK Grime production. It was like watching my favorite movie. I got work to do.
Logic on a 2013 imac
Will Logic run on a 2013 iMac? I can get one cheap. Or should I bite the bullet and get a newer Mac?

No time.
RRS helped me finish my first song.
After breaking through some insane imposter syndrome, I was able to finish my first track, "Monarch." Would love to share it with you all. Finishing up mastering this week, and would love any thoughts or feedback for final polish before I release.

Such quality! That will work anywhere. And the mood takes me to a different place. That's what music should do. The only criticism I would have is what my wife tells me all the time about my stuff. It starts at a certain energy level and ends at the same energy level. It might need more dynamics. 4.5 stars. :-)
Failure is opportunity
Recently, I had a friend reach out to me and asked if I would Mix a song they tracked in their home studio. I agreed to help them out. I’m in this for fun, I am already financially stable so I never ask for money. It’s therapeutic to me. All was going good until the response from the band came to a holt. I knew something was off. Turns it there was another engineer providing his version of the mix as well. I was fired lol. I will say, his mix was FANTASTIC! The group made the right decision. I’d be lying if I said it didn’t hurt a bit, even though for me, it was for fun. When they gave me the news, they also told me that what I did to the arrangement was incredibly and that the other engineer didn’t have the creative aspect. I still landed there respect as a “producer” and they want me to help in that area. I learned that even though my weakness came through, I still had very good strengths. These are opportunities to improve and celebrate. Stay Mixing!

Tough love but the good thing is, you know where you are and where you wanna go. That's a blessing.
Noob be asking stupid questions !!
What EQ is ideal for mastering please I'm doing the 101 course and just testing out all plugins and headphone and monitors just trying to get a a understanding of it all. I am a beginner so lots to do but if can? can you give a rough idea of any EQ ideas please, I know to use a analogue type but what's best ? I've got VM FG-A ? OR VM FG-S .. Don't forget to work on your ears, too. If you train your ears to hear the different frequency bands, you'll be able to make the right moves...
