If you have a good shop. Be thankful
Unfortunately my shop I had been going to since I started archery closed about a month or two ago. They had great techs, great customer service & always did a bang up job. I’ve since had to go to another shop, which doesn’t have the best reputation. Needed a new center serving. I bet I haven’t put 100 arrows through my bow since I got it & look at this! Already unraveled. I have a shoot Saturday & Sunday, that I’ll probably miss. So if you have a good shop. Support them & buy everything you can from them.

I have to travel almost 30 miles one way, but I try to support the pro shop versus the big box stores.
Standing front lateral raises?
Hi Casey I went to the Pro shop in my area this morning and got a little one on one time with the guy who works there, and we worked on sighting me in. I was able to get 3 of 12 arrows on a small target from 20 yards. I was working on getting the knuckles on the right spot below the ear and the bow string on to the corner of my mouth and the string also touching my nose- sort of a 3 point of contact before firing. Well after about 12 arrows I could feel the left delt muscle start to feel weak. You have the standing lateral raises listed but would a few sets of front lat raises help or is this not needed if I do the side raises?

Thanks Casey, I have my rack of dumbbells here at the office so no excuses!
Anyone let some arrows rip this weekend?
Traveling all weekend & didn’t get to touch my bow. Anyone get out & shoot?

I went on Friday and only had time for a few shots while they were sighting in my bow, then this morning I got a dozen shots in and the shoulder muscle started to act up telling me to hit the gym!
Practice
I know I need to practice on my technique! Being my 3rd time ever doing it I feel I’m getting there, at least as a rookie archer 😅🥴😂 The most difficult part is keeping it steady after 5 seconds, so the first 5 I aim and when think is the time to shoot, then the hand holding the bow starts moving 🤦🏻‍♂️🤣🤣🤣

Went by this afternoon to pick up my Hoyt bow that I had some work done, I wanted to reduce the 55 pound draw weight down to 40 pounds so I could focus more on getting the technique and form down and allow me to practice longer as I build up endurance. I shot several arrows and the guys there helped with some adjustments to the draw length and the sight height. Made some progress, and will go by Tuesday morning when it is less busy and get some one on one training and help getting my 20 yard distance dialed in better.
