3D range
I’m planning to hit the 3D range today, what’s the usual distance I should be shooting those targets, like when people shoot for competition? That way I practice the real competition distance and not closer?

20 yards is a basic start. All the way to 40 is a good day. Some will do out to 60 but work on 20-40. Most targets will be in that range
Advice needed
I purchased my bow about a month ago and practiced like 6-8 times, throwing around maybe 150-180 total arrows. How often should I use the wax on the string? Plus, should I add wax to the whole string or just the one with the D loop?

You don’t need a lot of wax. DO NOT WAX THE SERVING!!!!!
Bear Adapt 2
It’s my first bow ever, I’m very happy with it, it’s a 31 ATA, 45-60 pounds, I upgraded the sight for a Trophy Ridge Adjust pro 5, and added stabilizers. Nothing fancy, but I’m pumped 😂

Wisconsin Midstate Classic finish
Well ended up in 8th. Shooter’s definitely getting better. If I shot this score last year it would have been 4th. I’ll take it knowing I still have things to improve on

Quick question
Do you guys recommend to use a specific arrow to practice 3D as a beginner that is suitable for that type of target or does my regular arrows I use for target practice are ok? I’m thinking, because the 3D figures are inside trails, that maybe some of them will be lost if I don’t hit the target. Also, would you recommend those led lights to see better in dark places?

Any arrows will work for 3d! The more advanced you get you can build specific arrows for 3d shoots like 23s or bigger. Main thing is making sure you have the correct spine for your bow

Dad owned an archery shop growing up so I’ve always been around a bow. Stopped for quite a while but it called me back. Love tournaments and competing
