2026 Alaskan Caribou hunt
It was an amazing experience to get out there and hunt these animals. The Zone I was end cut off at 48hrs so I didn’t end up bagging one but I can within 280yards and saw some great views and massive bulls. This was first Alaskan Hunt ever so only up from here. There was a lot of traffic going on but still a fun hunt.

Sight tape tricks?
So I’ve been dealing with a conundrum. I shoot from 20-50yards I’m racking bulls back to back but when I shoot 60-80yards I constantly hit about a ft low. Am I missing something? I did recently bump my poundage up to 70 from 65lbs. But I adjusted my speed set up and I feel good out to 50 but I find it weird that I’d adjust just 10 yards and shoot consistently a foot off.

@Jordan Fischer see when it comes to arrows I’m still learning about how that affects my ranged shots. I know what GPI means but what does FOC mean? Im shooting 340 hunter XTs with 100g tips.

@Mark Chizmadia it definitely gives me something to look into and work towards. I appreciate your input on the subject. I’ll have to download that app and see what it’s about.
Good day at the range
After my last tune up I think I’m finally ready for the season open. This is at 50 yards. Getting good is hard on that bank account keep recking arrows.

Yeah, I normally do shoot two or three per spot. But I just got a tuneup and was trying to see if I was zeroed in. I guess I was zeroed in a little tighter than I thought.
Hunting guide
Just thought I’d throw this out. If anyone is looking to come up to AK and hunt it’s quite expensive to get a guide for even basic hunting. As a resident and the fact I’m training to be a guide I can help anyone that is interested. Fun fact you either need a guide or a resident to be with you on hunts up here. I’m working on making a network of archery hunters up here that want to see the last frontier but not spend 5k plus to get the opportunity. I’m just starting out on this adventure. just seeing if any group members are interested.

@Carey Kimber I appreciate the information man. I’m relatively new to the area but I’m hoping to get going this season or next on the guiding but in the meantime I’m hoping to learn about the best known areas for safe and effective archery hunting. I just feel that some of the people up here are greedy and charge outrageous prices to hunt and I want people getting into archery to get to experience this amazing place without breaking the bank.
Smoked it
Had to pass a hunters safety course to be able to hunt in Alaska didn’t need it in AZ but now I’m good to hunt in every state. Now just to save up the funds to successfully pull off a grizzly/moose hunt this season.
