Looking for a Trusted ITIN CAA Website Recommendation
Hello everyone, I’m looking for a trustworthy and IRS-certified CAA website/service to apply for my ITIN online. Preferably a service that is reliable, secure, and doesn’t require mailing my original passport. If you’ve personally used one with a good experience, please share the website or recommendation. Thanks in advance 🙏

Since they are affiliated with this Community, I suppose you could go with TaxSym! There's also a discount if you're a Premium member here. :)
APPROVED: Alliant CU | Fully remote | w/ ITIN | Foreign address
Anyone looking for a US checking / savings account should check out Alliant, the process was pretty straightforward. I was drawn to Alliant specifically because they allowed W-8BENs at initial account opening, and you don't need to have a US address. They are explicitly NRA-friendly, so no in-person visits required either. The only catch is that you need to fill out a "paper" application instead of going through the online process. Here's the link to the form, which you can fax, mail, or send via the chat. I did it via the chat, I just said I wanted to submit a paper application and if they could please forward it to the back office. Documents I submitted: - Signed form (signed in wet ink and scanned) - Passport - ITIN letter - W-8BEN - Utility bill evidencing my street address as stated in the form Timeline: - 17 April – submitted documents via chat - 26 April – received email stating my debit card was shipped on 23 April - 27 April – called them to ask for my member number so I could setup online banking; details sent via secure email (account opening date was stated as 22 April) So overall it was a quick and hassle free process, I'll update this post when I receive my debit card!

@A Vas I tend to agree, I don't want to maintain a lot of accounts. I think I will stop now, haha!

@Dave N no, since I applied as a non-resident not physically in the US, I had no reason to make it appear like I was logging in from there.
⚠️ Beware about BoA Resident Alien application!
Saw the approval posts here recommending BoA online - went for it today, made it all the way to the final step, then stopped and want to share what I found before someone else clicks through without reading. If you select "Resident Alien" in the application (which is what makes the online flow work), the last screen is basically a W-9 form. You're certifying, under penalty of perjury, that you're a "U.S. citizen or other U.S. person." Resident Alien" is a tax term, not something that comes with your ITIN. To actually qualify you need one of:A Green Card, or 183+ days physically in the US or A formal first-year election If you live abroad and just have an ITIN, technically you're a Non-Resident Alien. The correct form is W-8BEN, not W-9. Stuff that can go wrong if you sign W-9 anyway: - Account closed at the next yearly KYC review - When a bank closes you for fraud/misrep, they report it to ChexSystems and Early Warning Services (EWS). EWS is owned by Chase, BofA, Wells, Cap One, US Bank, PNC, Truist — they all see each other's flags in real time. ChexSystems sticks for 5 years. Most mainstream US banks pull both before opening anything new. - Automatic 24% backup withholding on interest - IRS expects a full 1040 with worldwide income - Any future US visa or ESTA form asks if you ever made a false statement to get a benefit. Bank account counts. Just wanted folks to know what's behind that final checkbox before clicking. Not worth it in my opinion.

This is exactly why I'm wary of every other online account opening that requires a W9 certification, including most credit unions, PayPal, and Venmo.
DP: AmEx Hilton Honors approved (new ITIN, prior US credit history)
Sharing my DP in case it helps anyone: Previous cards: - HSBC Premier ($9K, Oct. 2021) - opened without ITIN as an overseas Premier client - BofA Customized Cash Rewards ($13K, Jan. 2022) - opened without ITIN - Chase Freedom Rise ($1K, Mar. 2026) - opened as soon as ITIN received Applied for the AmEx Hilton Honors online on Mar. 9. The following day, was asked to upload passport and ITIN letter. Approved on Mar. 17 for $10K credit limit. Card shipped on Mar. 23 but never received at US address, chatted to request a new one on Apr. 14 and they overnighted it via FedEx. Received at US address today, Apr. 15! Already added to PayPal and Apple Pay via the AmEx app with no issues.

@John M I do have a US address as my mailing address for HSBC, and I recently added my ITIN (but not before applying for the AmEx). They made me fill up a new W-8BEN via Adobe Sign.

@John M I've changed my US mailing address with HSBC (US) a couple of times over the years, and haven't encountered any issues! My permanent address has always been my home country address. Mailing address changes online take 2 business days to propagate. Interesting experience you had with HSBC (SG), I also did the SG account opening a couple of months ago and they used my home country profile, not the US one.
BofA address change question
Today i tried to change my US mailing address ( The Anytime Mailbox address that i hate ) into a new Anytime address. But the app refused to let me change. Could it be that my account is still new ( Opened 6 days ago ) and my debit and credit cards have not been activated yet? Has anyone here experienced the same thing too?

If you're trying to do it on the app it won't work. Try on the website!
