Tello as proof of address for Chase?
Hello everyone, Has anyone here successfully open a Chase checking account or credit card by using Tello or some kind of insurance policy as proof of address? I have brand new BofA and Wells Fargo checking accounts but i can't generate bank statements as they are too new.

@Daniel C Oh no. Sorry to hear about that. Did you manage to open an account in the end?

@Sam Hutan I used a BofA bank statement in the end. And it worked :)
Chase credit card activation question.
Hello community members, I just received the physical card of the Chase Freedom Unlimited ( From USA to Australia ). On the card letter, it says that the card is ready to use. There is also no indication that i need to activate the card from the Chase site etc. So, does it mean that i can use the card straight away? I would like to hear from Chase credit card users about this matter thanks.

@Isabel G I am very surprised about this too. The funny thing is, you need to activate Chase debit cards ๐Ÿ˜…

@Yafeth Rivera Thank you for the advice :)
Chase and BofA experiences in San Francisco
Hi everyone, I am currently in San Francisco, and tried to open a Chase and BofA checking account today. The Chase experience was disappointing. The banker wasn't very enthusiastic and friendly, but the worst part was that the American address that i used as a residential address (It shows up as non CRMA in both Smartly and USPS) was rejected by the Chase system, because Chase used to have a branch downstairs ! (It is a tall office building ) I was very disappointed as i really wanted to get into the Chase ecosystem (I guess i am fated not have a relationship with Chase lol) With regards to Chase, the banker just asked for my Australian passport and a Capital One bank statement for ID verification purposes. I then had a much better experience with BofA. The banker was more helpful and friendly, and he set up the checking account for me. He also applied for the Atmos credit card on my behalf, and i got approved instantly with a 13k limit (This card is the one with the $95 annual fee) He also requested my passport and my physical Capital One credit card for ID verification purposes. All up, the appointment took 45 mins. I gave him my ITIN, American residential address, and also my Tello and Textnow numbers (They both can receive BofA security codes) Interestingly, the banker put down my Australian address as the residential address, and the American address as the mailing address. I have attached the banker's business card here (Don' worry, i am not getting commissions from him lol ) So, if anyone of you is visiting San Francisco in the future, and is interested in opening a BofA checking account and credit card, i highly recommend this guy and branch. I hope my info helps !

@Mathew Ede Hi Mathew. I went to another Chase branch in Las Vegas with a new Anytime Mailbox address, and i finally managed to open a Chase checking account.
Chase branch Las Vegas experience.
Hi everyone, So, after failures in Chase branches in San Francisco and Washington DC ( System outage in DC ) I finally got a Chase checking account ( The one with the $4.95 monthly fee ) in a Las Vegas branch. Luckily my new BofA checking account generated a statement last week with a workable Anytime Mailbox address. I also applied for the Freedom Unlimited credit card, and despite my banker pushing it to be approved on the spot, the application has gone into review. But my banker is confident that it will be approved by next week. He also took copies of my BofA statement, passport, and i had to sign some forms, including the W8 Ben form. I was at the branch for 1 hour and 15mins. The banker was very patient and friendly. ( I have attached a copy of his digital business card, in case anyone is going to Las Vegas lol ) And that's it for my American banking adventure. I think it was a productive trip, as i have signed up with BofA, Wells Fargo and Chase. I know for some nationalities, it is difficult to get a US visa, and USA is an expensive country to visit. But if you have the $$$ and time, and your passport is powerful, i highly recommend that you all come to America and get everything done in a branch. The experience is so much easier and less stressful. PS : My Tello number can receive OTP messages from Chase, Wells Fargo and BofA.

@Mic U Hi Mic. The banker only used the Anytime American address from the BofA statement as the main address. With regards to the W8 BEN address, yup, he only used the address from the BofA statement as the main address. BofA seems to be the only bank that uses a foreign address as the main address.

@Mic U Haha yup, that's how it is set up. I am surprised that BofA uses the foreign address as the main one.
Citi checking account question
I am thinking of opening a Citi checking account before i leave America. But i see that there is a monthly fee unless you receive a $250 deposit every time. It doesn't seem worth it..am i reading it right?

@Aaron Ng To be honest, i am no fan of Citi too ๐Ÿ˜… But their Strata Premier and AA cards do look attractive.

@Aaron Ng Ha, yeah, Chase didn't leave me with a good first impression. I am giving them another chance tomorrow morning ๐Ÿ˜…
