Carbon fibre insoles for boots
I was just wondering if anyone uses carbon fibre insoles and if they do give that slight advantage in sprinting and jumping?

@Preston Oldfield yeah so hard with grass pitches. I know when at gilberdyke all our games were called off because it got so boggy. Think it was like no games from end of Oct until April was a crazy run of bad weather

@Finley Perkins newish thing meant to make you jump and sprint a little bit better, but not sure it actually works
Full GK training drill 🧤 – Aerial balls, Volley & Saves
Sharing a clip of my son working on a full GK drill – attacking high balls, volleys and dealing with low/mid shots. Any feedback or tips are very welcome 🙏

@José Carlos Cimorra love the spin round, such a modern way of recovering and so much quicker than the standard. Jonathan really can’t get his head round it, I’m old school and never did that kind either so hard for me to coach it 🙈

@José Carlos Cimorra that’s great thank you
Question from a newbie keeper parent
My son is a full time keeper for his U7 team, he started out playing on pitch but each knock he took ended with him in tears which is what lead him to the goalkeeper position! He watches football on the TV a lot and in doing so can read the game very well. He knows when to let the ball go out of play so he'll then get the goal kick etc. I've happily supported this role and am putting as much as I can into helping him learn his new position, we go out together once a week for a bit of training and he attends a dedicated goalkeeper coach training as well, He always plays in goal during his team's weekend training so he's getting plenty of practice and learning a lot! But... He's a sensitive kid (hence getting teary when getting knocked on pitch) and isn't the sort the throw himself around the goal with diving etc. I'm trying to build up his confidence and make him more brave because at some point he's going to have to go for those low smothers and could ultimately take a knock to the body at some point 😬 My question is... Those parents that have started out with their little ones playing in goal at this age, does this all happen over the next few years so therefore don't push it or worry about it too much? I can't help but feel the more training he's doing the more he's thinking too much about every move he makes and that in itself is preventing him from moving forwards with certain things as well as the fear factor. Naturally I will support him as much as I can but at the same time I feel I need to be careful to not push him too much at such a young age. It's a real tricky one because I watch some young keeper's that are fearless from the getgo and wonder if they're the type that make it into the keeper world. If you've got this far then thank you so much for reading my post that I didn't expect to be so long haha!

@Gary Hughes has he started just diving from the knees? Just builds up confidence when that’s going well bring on the one knee and push off.

1-2-1 over Group sessions
What’s everyone’s view what’s best? I started Jonathan on 1-2-1 sessions with a new coach and just for one on ones which we focused the last 5 weeks he has come on so much. As you can see in the video below, obviously money isn’t endless and I’m stuck on do I do 8 months of 1-2-1 sessions weekly and stop the group sessions all together? https://vm.tiktok.com/ZNRCkqFaM/

@Isabelle Simpson that’s great you can’t beat having experience. I do sessions for others but Jonathan just doesn’t do all that well with me coaching hence getting someone else in 🙈

@Preston Oldfield yeah see the group sessions are good, I’m moving him away from my group sessions and tbh due to family commitments think I’m going to stop my sessions and move him to a group his 1-2-1 does on a Friday and see how that goes. It maybe a case we just do 4 months of 1-2-1 and a year of group with him

Young keeper only being doing it for a year. Just losing confidence even though been invited to trials for some clubs.
