Household Meal Conflicts
Do you and your spouse or family members have differing tastes in food and it causes problems creating meals? For example, you enjoy fish and vegetables primarily but your husbands is more of a meal and potato’s guy? Or are you already on a healthy path eating more protein and fiber but your kids are on the primarily carb train. Tell me your delimas!

@Katie Jagocki I totally get why that feels hard, especially when you’re cooking it every day—trying to avoid carbs completely while they’re right in front of you usually makes things harder, not easier. Intentional portions of carbs with your meals alongside protein and veggies can help create satiety and not fighting cravings. You don’t need to eat like your husband and boys, but you also shouldn’t feel completely restricted or separate—same meals, just different portions. When your body is properly fueled, it’s a lot easier to stay consistent without feeling like you’re constantly resisting food. If I remember correctly, you’re an A blood type and a predominant mesomorph body type, the right carbs in the right portions can be very beneficial for you. Basmati rice, sweet potatoes, organic sourdough possibly, even brown rice pasta…::If you’re still as active, a 40% carb, 30% protein, 30% fat split can be very effective.
What does “being fit” mean to you now versus 10 years ago?
I know 10 years ago, for me, I just wanted to be lean, like see my ribs lean. Now, I want to be strong and lean. How has time changed your perception of your own fitness? @Margie Brennan @Katie Jagocki @Becky Brett @Michelle Parke @Val Zbezinski @Ariel Kestler @Corey Peacock @Sara Colon @Sarah Wambles @Abigail Cola

Meal Prep Hacks
What are your favorite meal prep hacks? Mine is using rotisserie chicken. I use it in everything. Here in Hawaii it’s actually cheaper to buy a pre-made rotisserie chicken and shred it up and dump it into all sorts of things versus buying chicken breasts and cooking them. (Just have to be careful about what the rotisserie chicken is based in…..I do avoid Costco rotisserrie chickens. Most of the ones at my local stores just use soy sauce as a basting but I remove the skin so……)
