How To Flip Your Switch From Panic To Picnic Mode
Meet the Vagus nerve: your body’s internal Wi-Fi that actually has a signal. It’s a biological noodle connecting your brain to your heart, lungs, and gut. Think of it as the "CEO of Chill." While your stress levels are screaming about deadlines, the Vagus nerve is the cool intern handing out iced tea and reminding you to breathe. In our high-speed world, this nerve often gets ghosted. When your "vagal tone" drops, you become a burnt piece of toast—anxious, sleep-deprived, and perpetually bloated. To fix it, you just need to get a little weird. Hum like a confused bee, gargle your water like a pro, or splash your face with ice water to trigger your inner scuba diver. These tiny hacks flip the switch from "panic mode" to "picnic mode." Your body has a built-in reset button; you just have to know how to tickle it. Ready to upgrade your internal zen? Grab our Vagus Nerve Stimulation Guidebook in the classroom. https://www.skool.com/vagus/classroom/f927d70f

@Sterling Cooley Thanks! Yeah, that's what's weird, I was awake through the whole thing, they just do a pain killer med. I had the same procedure 8 months before (cataract surgery) and my heart was fine. I told that anesthesiologist as low a dose of whatever as he could get away with. (a bit foolish, sort of hurt) I've done vagus nerve toning stuff since 2012. So maybe I over did it.

@Sterling Cooley He was my customer and a really good guy - when he was with Winona and for years after they broke up. (Winona was a customer too - her dad owned a rare bookshop) He was in at least once or twice a month. Serious collector. Rare book sellers and collectors are an odd bunch and I think he had fun with the part. (he really loved the guy I worked for at that time - one of 3 brothers but Jerry was the black sheep brother and wasn't an owner. World champ poker player - very Las Vegas, very funny. Johnny took Jerry out of drinks when he and Winona broke up.) Definitely a very odd world! Also great training for keeping an enormous amount of information in your head. Another odd thing - many rare book sellers are left handed. (lefties have different microtubules to right handed ppl - shows up during gestation)
Unlock tVNS Efficacy: The Truth About Ultrasound Gel Additives
Commercial ultrasound gels often contain propylene glycol, parabens, and carbomers. These chemicals penetrate the skin. Such additives can irritate tissues. They may interfere with parasympathetic signaling during tVNS. Transcutaneous Vagus Nerve Stimulation (tVNS) requires precise conductivity. These additives compromise purity. A homemade gel made from natural elements changes this. Aloe vera hydrates, vegetable glycerin provides viscosity. Trace electrolytes facilitate ion transfer, rivaling commercial conductivity (Siemens/meter). The homemade gel eliminates toxins. This ensures uniform wave propagation during tVNS. It enhances montage efficacy at auricular or cervical sites. Benefits include boosted heart rate variability. Also supports gut-brain axis modulation, without endocrine disruptors. Toxin-free conduction maximizes vagal tone restoration. Vagal tone is vital for stress resilience and neuroplasticity. https://www.skool.com/vagus/super-conductive-homemade-ultrasound-gel

I've got a bunch of aloe vera in the garden, so I've just been cutting and striping the leaves of the gel. Seems to work fine!

Saw this via a Dale Bredesen MD post.

They are using the focused ultrasound to get the creatine past the blood brain barrier - as a mechanism for delivery. (they get to that by the end of the article)
Aloe Vera gel
I did some research on US and gels - read that you can use aloe vera. (if you are worried about gel additives) I may try making some, since we have a fair amount of aloe vera in our garden. But you can buy pure aloe vera on Amazon, Whole Foods, usually any health food store.

I got clipped in the knees while running out our big dogs - total face plant. Scrapped up my face. Aloe vera from the garden and and skim coat of Manuka honey - healed beautifully and no scars at all. Aloe vera is so good for skin :)
Skool Maps !
I want to take a moment to Welcome Everyone to the Vagus Skool Group 😃 This group was Started in 2025, because I needed a way to keep my work online - for the last 8 years I worked tirelessly as a Vagus Nerve "Influencer" - one could say that - I worked as an always online and available expert on Vagus Nerve Stimulation - with a key focus on Ultrasound Stimulation. In 2024, I was given a once in a lifetime opportunity to shift my work in Alzheimer's Treatments, using Ultrasound - and I made the tough decision to essentially drop *everything* all at once, and shift gears, it was a painful decision, but given how much progress I've made there, it was the right decision. That doesn't mean anything I used to do working in Vagus Nerve specific areas is wrong, or bad, or not worthwhile ! So now that I've got some breathing room (Our Ultrasound mega-study is in really good hands now) I have been working my "invisible hands" into the Social Media aether again. And hooooly cow - there are some incredible things happening - especially when it comes to Applying Ultrasound Technology to the Vagus Nerve, Spleen, and the Cerebral Cortex (For those who don't know what I'm talking about, See a recent Post about Insular Cortex / Cerebral Ultrasound helping to fix people with some MAJOR inflammatory and chronic conditions (https://www.skool.com/vagus/new-bonus-module-insular-cerebral-stimulation-w-ultrasound?p=4ac49587) Either way, the reason I'm making this post, is we have so many people joining the Vagus Skool now from all over the planet, Skool has a neat feature called "Maps" and I just decided to open it up, now, from a privacy perspective, please know that this significantly skews your location, to a very GENERAL location, it's not going to pinpoint you or anything. The reason I'm exploring this is because in the past, I've seen Vagus Nerve Meetups (Mostly through Facebook Groups) that have become insanely beneficial to people all around the planet.

it looks like Los Angeles may have a few members. I'm super interested in local meetups, especially after I learn a bit more about how to use ultrasound well. I'm experienced in Eden Energy Medicine - based on TCM meridians etc (20 yrs), EFT/Energy Psychology (studying for certification currently but used it for 20 yrs), photobiomodulation (used a NIR/RL panel 8 yrs) lymphatics, and have used vagus nerve somatic techniques for about 10 years. (anyone else humming while your face is in a bowl of ice water??) In the NE LA area.
