Why We Start with Parts Work
Unfoldment is natural. Life unfolds on its own when nothing is in the way. As we grow up, Parts form to help us navigate emotional challenges and relationships. These Parts were intelligent and necessary. They helped us adapt and function. This is the shallowest depth of the work—foundational, and where unfoldment most often gets impeded. In adulthood, Parts often limit further unfoldment. They reinforce fixed self-images, emotional reactions, body tension, behaviors, and relational patterns. I’ve seen spiritual seekers stay stuck for decades, not from lack of sincerity, but because their practice never addressed the Parts that were in the way. Parts Work isn’t about fixing or improving ourselves. It’s about noticing the Parts that are active right now and relating to them in a way that allows unfoldment to continue. When Parts soften or melt, the system naturally reorganizes. I’ve created three Parts classes to guide you through this practice on your own, gently and at your own pace. Check them out in the classroom. We start here not because something is wrong, but because softening what’s in the way allows life to keep unfolding. That’s why we start with Parts Work.
