Ready or not....
I am part of a business/marketing community where we meet twice a month. On this week's call, we discussed Messy Starting vs Procrastinating for Perfection. We talked about how each of us has something that we have not launched because we've been striving for it to be perfect by our own standards. Sometimes we just need to get over it not being perfect and just being good enough. If it's good enough, we can get it out, work with it, and adapt and improve it. Like software launches, there's a reason for versioning, right? How many existing coaches found themselves struggling with this as you started or even now? How did you overcome it? How many new coaching find themselves procrastinating because they feel everything needs to be perfect before they call themselves coaches and get out in front of clients? How can we work through this sense of not being good enough until perfect?

Hi All, I am very passionate about the use of AI and automation; both personal and professional areas. - What are your thoughts on the use of these technologies within coaching? - Are there any specific areas you would see these technologies benefiting your business and delivery? And on the contrary, do you have any concerns? - Are there an ethical or legal concerns? I look forward to discuss this topic with you all

Since I am in the starting stages, I have used AI to help me with building my business and brainstorming different aspects - like bonus material, lead magnets, retreats, masterclasses, podcast ideas, blog post ideas, general marketing ideas. It's a good tool to use to generate ideas, but of course you have to be careful and not take what it spits out verbatim. Use the results as springboards for your own creativity to bounce from.
New coaches, a suggestion
New coaches, I'm sharing this with you because I've heard these doubts too often, and I've faced them myself. I hope these will encourage you to move forward more confidently in your coaching career. These insights are not just for the established; they're vital for you starting out: 1) Avoid Coaching for Free: • Always charge SOMETHING. This establishes a value exchange. • You'll feel more appreciated and motivated knowing you're earning. Your clients, too, will value and commit to the process more because they've invested financially. • Start with a few ‘trial’ clients where their repayment for your coaching is a testimonial used to establish credibility. Don’t stay here too long. • Coaching far too long and not being comfortable charging for services stems from feeling unworthy to charge – in this example, not charging devalues what you offer. • Seasoned coaches understand this balance of value, and it's a lesson to embrace early in your career. 2) Steer Clear of Hourly Charging: • Hourly rates aren't effective. • We cannot create value in one-off sessions (unless you have a specialized skill such as NLP or hypnosis where one or two sessions suffice) as transformation doesn’t happen overnight. • Instead create a 2-month, 3-month, or 4-package or offering or group program. • Begin with lower rates, increasing them gradually with every 4-5 clients as your confidence grows, a strategy seasoned coaches often use. • Coach 3 or 4 sessions per month for 30-60 minutes. 3) A Website Isn't a Must (initially): • Don't get stalled by the absence of a website. • Many successful coaches started with just a basic page, and some of my clients have never even visited my website. • Focus on coaching quality over online presence, just as many experienced coaches have realized. • While a website can be a good lead generator, you can build it out as you enroll and coach clients. 4) Have a Solid Contract: • Ensure you have a strong contract with clear legal boundaries. • It’s essential for both your protection and that of your clients.

I was listening to a podcast today where the speaker was stating you can do free coaching sessions, but 1. expect the free coaching clients to be more difficult (IE: not as serious or committed, often late or missing sessions) 2. do not expect those free clients to turn into paid clients. Take your experience with free session clients just as training for you to hone your skills and help you define your target client. 3. set clear boundaries for the free sessions (how many you will have, the duration of each, the expectations at the end of the free sessions and the cost for the client continuing with you if they choose to convert to a paying client).
Big picture and finer details
Has anybody else felt they needed to complete the course twice? Once to get an overview and once to hone in to finer details? I like the structure but feel my understanding is deeper once I have a clearer overview.

In most training courses I attend, it is encouraged by the creators for attendees to revisit the program at least twice - first time to take in the content without distraction, and a second time taking notes, asking questions, and really absorbing everything.
Unlocking Transformation: The Power of Coaching Skills and Experiences
As a coach, new coach, or coach to be, what is your most effective coaching skill or experience that has the potential to create profound growth and transformation in your clients? And what recommendations do you have for others looking to develop this skill?

Listening skills, asking the right questions, and trusting my intuition to help others trust theirs.
