I’m Heather from the Northern Suburbs of Illinois and this is my cat and dog. My dream job is to work with all kinds of animals. I currently communicate with my animals and my friends animals and am working on communicating with others and training others as well. I also walk dogs and sit for other animals as well as do accounting. So grateful to be part of this community 💗

@Jessica Spencer I would love to share how I don't have a community yet though
Staffing solutions!
Thank you @Paul Bahr for the advice! I came across a comment today from another business owner that really resonated with me and I thought it was worth sharing here 👇 “I’ve learned that success comes down to finding those special few people who truly align with your vision and company values—then creating an environment where they feel valued and want to stay. It’s about making it more than just a job for them.” Paul shared how he turned things around after a rough patch by: 1️⃣ Bringing in a counsellor to support his team and give them a safe space to work through personal and work-related issues. 2️⃣ Holding a self-reflection session, where each team member scored themselves against the company values. It sparked some big realisations and accountability. It really reminded me that sometimes the hardest seasons of leadership are the ones that grow us the most — both as business owners and as people. 🌱 So with all that in mind, this brings me to my…… 👉 💥 Action of the day: Reflect on your current team (or even yourself if you’re still solo!) and ask: - Do they truly align with my company values? - What can I do to make this “more than just a job” for them? I’m going to send a a staff questionnaire today to try to evaluate the situation in my team. If you’ve ever had a tough staff situation or a turning point with your team, I’d love to hear what helped you most. Let’s make this one an open and supportive chat 💛

@Jason Shawn, it's going well. I'm part of multiple communities. How about you? One thing I've noticed, though, is that we only advance levels on the leaderboard in each community based on our level of activity. Right, well, if we are in multiple communities and active in all of them, and hold different levels of leadership in other communities, in my opinion, it should be the same level of leadership across each community. Just a thought that crossed my mind. I noticed that some of us members across communities, and I think it would be a good idea to implement, maybe. Possibly a topic for a different group discussion?
🎓🐾 Back to School! 🐾🎓
Yesterday was a big milestone - I’ve officially gone back to college to study dog training! Standing here with my amazing daycare manager, we’re both investing in our skills so we can keep giving the very best care and guidance to the dogs (and owners) we work with. I’ve always believed that learning never stops - especially when it comes to understanding our four legged friends. Over the next few months I’ll be sharing tips, insights and behind-the-scenes updates from my training journey right here in our Skool community. Got a question about training dogs or working in the pet care world? Pop it below ⬇️ I’d love to chat with you about it!

Knowledge is power 🧠
Hey everyone! I’ve been diving into some amazing business and financial books over the years and I wanted to share my top takeaways that can help us all level up our businesses! 1. From Rich Dad Poor Dad: Build assets that put money in your pocket, not liabilities that take it out. Digital products or recurring services can be great assets! 2. From The Lean Startup: Test ideas quickly with small experiments, get feedback, and pivot fast if needed. 3. From Profit First: Pay yourself first by taking profit before expenses, so you always keep profit top priority. 4. From Atomic Habits: Small daily improvements compound over time, focus on tiny changes that make a big impact. 5. From The E-Myth Revisited: Work on your business, not just in it. Systemize and document so it can run without you. 6. From Think and Grow Rich: Set clear goals, visualize them, and keep a positive mindset. 7. From The 4-Hour Workweek: Focus on the 20% of tasks that bring 80% of results. Automate, delegate, or eliminate the rest. 8. From Good to Great: Get the right people in the right roles – they’ll drive your success. 9. From Blue Ocean Strategy: Find a unique space where you can stand out, instead of fighting in crowded markets. 10. From The Millionaire Next Door: Live below your means, reinvest, and grow wealth quietly. These lessons are gold! Let me know which one resonates with you the most, and let’s put them to work!

Great topic and great books!!!! I have way too many to list, and they are all back home right now, but 'Rich Dad Poor Dad' was a good read. I will absolutely have to come back to this topic and share some books I have at home when I get back from my trip 🫶
🧹 Tidying the Garage = Tidying My Business Systems
Ive always said clean home, clean mind 🧘 I spent part of the weekend sorting out my garage with my partner and it’s one of those jobs you keep putting off because it’s a mess and feels too big to tackle. (Ngl I haaaaaaate this job) But as I started I realised something… It wasn’t just physical clutter. It was all the “I’ll sort that later” jobs that had built up over time… just like in business. Once I started throwing out what didn’t serve me, giving everything a proper home and creating flow, it suddenly felt lighter, calmer and easier to find what we needed. Honestly it’s exactly the same feeling when you tighten up your business operations. ✅ Create order in your tools and files. ✅ Update your automations. ✅ Let go of what’s no longer working. ✅ Make space for what’s actually useful. Sometimes we think we need a new strategy, when really we just need to tidy up the one we’ve already got and make time and space for the things we do need. Has anyone else noticed how physical decluttering helps your mental and business clarity too?

Yes, absolutely when I declutter my house or anything really, I notice how it helps with lightening and clearing both my mental and business clarity as well. Thank you for sharing this 🧘‍♀️
