Cut roses question
Hi! 👋🏼 I have always wondered how to stop this, or if it's just inevitable? The droopy stem right under the flower head of a rose. I've seen a Gerber daisy trick with a pin through the stem, but I've never tried it. Figured this is a good place to ask!

@Amy Locks Thank you! I think I've heard about taking off the outer petals before but I've never tried it. The house wasn't hot (winter in Vermont, haha). I always fresh cut the stems when I get them and they go right into water, but I don't always add the packets or sugar. I'll try that in the future, thank you!!

Hi everybody! I'm a lifelong plant lover - I even went to school for horticulture a million years ago. All of that knowledge has only ever been used for my own home, though, and much have it has slipped away over time. I live in Vermont with my husband, two teens, and our cat. My home of 20 years has many gardens I have built and added to (most of them weren't here when we bought the house 😁) I have a variety of houseplants that I love but my house isn't set up well for light, so I have to be very strategic with them. My favorite is an ivy that is very tiny but came off of a plant my mom was given when I was born. At one point she had a massive plant, but something happened, and it's almost all completely gone aside from this one little cutting that she gave me that I've been nursing along. I'm really hoping I can get it going again this year! 🪴

Hi everybody! I'm happy to be here 🙂I do have my own community! It's called Life, After and it's a community for women who were diagnosed with breast cancer before the age of 40 - regardless of current age. It's still a baby, I only have 2 members plus myself, but I have big ideas for it and have been slowly adding content. Here is the link: https://www.skool.com/life-after-8184/about
