Ahh everything is coming out now to join and I'm to skint with our holiday coming up 🤣 I won't tell Bailey we are missing this one but count us in for the next and for heelwork hackers! I might have to ask for a super early birthday present but I'll find a way 🤣
Need your opinion?
What is the most important skill in dog training? If over the next 30 days you could acquire one dog-training skill as a superpower, which one would you choose? ps. If you think I missed one, comment it.

All of the above 🤣 Consistency and Structure is probably what I struggle most with so magically having that as a super power would be my pick 🤣

@Sebastian Summer you asked to let you know how I get on so here is my starting point. First day at using restraint - started with food to see how he reacted to the backtie. Seemed comfortable so continued with toy. There is a mix of management for reacting to aeroplanes & trying play, so the play formula was a bit all over the place. Was really pleased with his focus during plane overhead & realised I tried to switch to play too soon. Was partly remembering the plan as I was going but watching back could see the tease & hide on restraint working well - so will make this main aim of session Pleased with this for first try.

This is the one thing we haven't done yet! So glad we can still see the videos to remind myself on what to do! Looks like I know what Bailley and i are doing this evening 🤣
👋 Welcome to the group, you legends
Thanks for jumping in here early – you’re basically the founding members of this community. This space is for all of you who already follow my work and want a place to go a bit deeper together. Please say hi in the comments and share: - Who are you and what dog/dogs you have? - What are you mainly working on right now? - What’s the first thing you’d like to learn here – one topic or problem you want me to cover as soon as possible? Many thanks, Alex

So excited to get back to some proper training in the new year, we have been a little lazy over christmas! I have Bailey, the rather large border collie who will be 4 in a couple of months. We train in all different things including competitive obeidance, Hoopers, Tricks etc. At the moment we are mainly working on confidence and focus in busier/new environments. We have qualified for our first show away from home in February so cramming in what we can before then to try and give us half a chance! Super excited for play with Purpose 2 and heelwork hackers!
