Practical guide- Play on restrain/back-tie
Hey guys in this video you can find recorded training session where I breakdown how to play on restrain. I mentioned probably 100000 times that this is my absolutely favourite way to build maximum desire (eg. strong activation) and trouble shoot (eg. passive dog in fighting). There are also couple of mistakes or imperfections that I have made ... can you spot them?! let me know in the comments👇 I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks for sharing this, really useful for me to build drive for Freddie to tug

I’m finishing Play with Purpose – Second Edition, which builds on the original challenge and goes deeper based on real implementation and the questions that came up from you. Because you’re inside this community, you’ll get free access to the Second Edition when it’s released. Here’s where I need your help. If you’ve already been through Play with Purpose and it changed how you use play, motivation, or structure in training, I’d appreciate a short, honest review. Nothing polished. Just: - where you were before - what shifted - what you do differently now You can leave it here: https://g.page/r/CeTWEis3qMEnEAE/review or in the comments or by email. If you’re also waiting for Heelwork Hackers, community members will get priority access and a loyalty discount when it opens! Thanks to everyone who’s been in this early group — your feedback directly shapes what I build next. — Alex

Before the challenge Freddie wouldn’t engage in tugging at all & would hold on to toy/ball & parade around. Now we have a clear structure to follow to activate the game, we have some tugging & when he gets the win he brings it straight to me. The food games were much easier for us & I can now walk him across busier road using the kong hand, before I’d have to wait until no cars in sight as he would lie down (clapper) & if cars approaching lunge. I use it a lot for his reactivity. Still lots to work though but being part of the group really helps for motivation & accountability. Looking forward to second edition 🥳
Plan to progress play
@Alex Lato Just wondering what the plan is going forward for this group? Really really really want to progress from the play with purpose challenge but feeling stuck. Freddie was good with food games but feel stuck with toy play. Motivating him for toys seemed harder. @Nick Benger filmed this for me at the end of the challenge but I didn’t get feedback so thought I’d try again. Kicking the ball has become the cue to start play & he’s bringing it back to me really nicely but not really progressing with the tug part.
